Instagram and Facebook now offer ad-free subscription plans, starting €9.99/month. Is social media becoming a paid service?

Ich wüsste nicht wer das machen würde. FB nutze ich gar nicht, instagram so gut wie gar nicht und Twitter naja.

Ich würde es nutzen wenn die mich an den Werbeeinnahmen beteiligen würden !LOL

i dont think a lot of people will pay for the subscription. A monthly expense of 10 euros is already big.

For now, the ads dont bother me that much. I dont think ill spend 10 euros to remove the ads.

Ich denke, dass Meta mal testen will, wie so etwas angenommen wird. Meine persönliche Vermutung: eher nicht so gut. Facebook ist schon seit Jahren eine Plattform für Boomercringe (wobei, das vermutlich das zahlungswilligste Publikum ist), bei Instagram ist auch schon eine gewisse Sättigung eingetreten und ich vermute mal, es wird sich in Zukunft vermutlich in Richtung Millenialcringe entwickeln, die eher allerdings eher zahlungsunwillig sind. Btw. Meta benötigt noch dringend eine Plattform für Zoomercringe!

Gilt das Abo schon für Facebook und Instagram, also einmal zahlen und beide sind dann werbefrei?

Dieser "move" seitens FB / Meta war zu erwarten. Solange man die User "melken" kann, wird das knallhart durchgezogen. Bald wird man die gewohnten web2 sozialen Netzwerke bzw. Ökosysteme nur mehr gegen Bezahlung nutzen können .... Ach ja, man zahlt dann auch noch dafür dass man "gemolken" wird. Sehr clever.

I think they all will sadly. The people who refuse to pay extra like me will put up with ads though. All these formerly free services are pushing people to pay monthly because they know they will earn more from monthly fees than they ever made from the ads.

Überall nur noch Abo hier und Abo da. Das nen Trend, der mir gar nicht gefällt. Das hat alles ein bisschen Geschmack von den alten Jamba Spar Abo und die ganzen Zeitschriften die einen Abos aufs Auge drücken wollte.

I would not be surprised. They need to make money and ads aren't really cutting it anymore. Also, laws from the EU and other countries are making it harder for them to target users with their information. I don't use either service though.

Der Zuckerwurschtl kann mich ......... und X (Twitter) ist frei, man muss nicht unbedingt verifizieren.
Facebook Zusammenfassung:
die wollen dass du für deine Beiträge wirbst und dafür natürlich zahlst. Gleichzeitig das Angebot zu zahlen für Werbefrei. Also die einen Trottel zahlen für die Werbung, die anderen Trottel zahlen dafür dass sie keine Werbung sehen müssen.
Über diesen Blödsinn brauchen wir gar nicht diskutieren.

Das kommt nicht wirklich überraschend und es gibt sicher manche, die das nutzen.

Ich nutze beides so selten, dass mich sie Werbung auch nicht stört.
