Account Farming ist eine Praxis, die es schon lange vor Web3 gegeben hat und vor allem in Sozialen Medien und im SEO-Umfeld bekannt ist.
Account farming is the practice of creating and maintaining multiple accounts with the same online service. Often this is for the purpose of committing fraudulent acts, both large and small. These range from practices such as signup bonus abuse in iGaming, to hijacking online wallets as well as full-scale identity theft.

Unter Account Farming versteht man das Betreiben von mehreren generischen Accounts oder Webseiten mit der Absicht, sich dadurch einen Vorteil zu verschaffen. Oft in einer betrügerischen Absicht.
Bei Blackhat-SEO geht es zum Beispiel darum die Suchergebnisse bei Google (Bing) zu manipulieren, um besser im Ranking dazustehen. SEO-Betrüger fahren dafür Dutzende Fake-Websites und Fake-Blogs zu einem Thema hoch, die sich gegenseitig verlinken, um so für gewisse Keywords in der Google-Suche weiter vorne gelistet zu werden.
Auf Twitter, Facebook & Co. wiederum geht es darum, mittels Account Farming die eigenen Profile besser dastehen zu lassen, indem Fake-Profile hochgefahren werden, um Follower und Interaktion vorzutäuschen oder Spam oder Scams zu verschicken.
Zunehmend werden diese Fake-Profile von Bots und sogar mittels KI betrieben, um nicht so einfach erkannt zu werden.
Dass ähnliche Muster auch auf Hive zu finden sind, ist daher wenig überraschend, zumal es hier auch um echte Krypto-Rewards geht.
Das Incentive Account/Vote/Reblog/Follower Farming zu betreiben ist daher groß. Anderseits haben Account Farmer auf Hive ein Problem. Die Transparenz. Alle Aktionen lassen sich nachvollziehen und sind auf der Blockchain öffentlich dokumentiert.
Als Faustregel würde ich sagen. Wenn jemand auf Hive mehr Projekte und Accounts betreibt als Elon Musk Firmen besitzt, sollte man vielleicht skeptisch werden ;)

Account farming is the creation and maintenance of multiple generic accounts or websites with the intention of gaining an advantage. Often with a fraudulent intent.
Blackhat SEO, for example, is about manipulating Google (Bing) search results to get a better ranking. To do this, SEO scammers launch dozens of fake websites and fake blogs on a topic, which cross-link to each other in order to be listed higher in the Google search for certain keywords.
On Twitter, Facebook & Co., on the other hand, the aim is to use account farming to make one's own profiles look better, by ramping up fake profiles to simulate followers and interaction or to send spam or scams.
Increasingly, these fake profiles are operated by bots and even by means of AI in order not to be recognized so easily.
The fact that similar patterns can also be found on Hive is therefore hardly surprising, especially since real crypto rewards are also at stake here.
The incentive to do account/vote/reblog/follower farming is therefore great. On the other hand, account farmers on Hive have a big problem. Transparency. All actions can be tracked and are publicly documented on the blockchain.
As a rule of thumb, I would say. If someone runs more projects and accounts on Hive than Elon Musk owns companies, you better get skeptical ;)

Bekommt auf HIVE schon öfter mit - muss ich sagen.
Voting-Kreise ("circle jerks") gibt es in mehr oder weniger großem Stil schon immer hier auf Hive und schon davor auf Steem. Und offline gibts ja auch nicht umsonst den Spruch "Eine Hand wäscht die andere". Es ist schwierig zu sagen, was noch gegenseitige freundschaftliche Hilfe ist, und ab wann ein Schaden für das System entsteht. Wenn sich die Top-Witnesses und Wale gegenseitig (up)voten, dann kann man das sicherlich kritisieren, aber andererseits, wo wäre Hive ohne den Einsatz dieser Wale? Sicher nicht da, wo es heute ist.
Eine andere Sache ist, wenn z.B. jemand dutzende, wenn nicht hunderte Accounts nicht nur erzeugt hat, sondern die Keys dafür besitzt und somit unter falschem Namen postet, votet und Kunden dafür bezahlen lässt. Da kann langfristig Schaden für die Reputation von Hive entstehen.
Voting-Kreise wird man vermutlich nie ganz verhindern, können aber auch organisch entstehen, und sind sicher ein Graubereich, feine Linie, was ok ist und was nicht. Ghostwriting, ID und Key Theft sind aber nochmal eine ganz andere Liga.

I don't like the practice personally and so far really haven't seen it here on Hive. Unless you are talking about Bot farms on Splinterlands then yes, many!

We had a recent case in the German community ;) Hundreds of accounts farmed, cross linked, cross followed etc.
What was their ultimate goal? What were they trying to achieve?
Probably boosting their company as paid workshop and meetup organizers.
Let's just hope the bot accounts don't take over like Twitter!
I have seen many people doing Blackhat Seo, but it is not long term, they will fail on day for sure.

Da habe ich ja schon glaube gleich viel.

Wäre das, was ich schreiben würde, wenn ich nur auf einen Upvote aus wäre. Wer weiß, wie viele Kommentare auf Hive gar nicht ernst gemeint sind, sondern nur von Personen durchgeführt werden, die darauf hoffen, einen Upvote zu bekommen?
Aber auf der anderen Seite: Die Aussicht auf Rewards auf Hive reizt auch dazu an, Kommentare zu schreiben, die sonst nie geschrieben worden wären, und die, selbst wenn der Reward die primäre Motivation war, trotzdem einen inhaltlichen Mehrwert bieten.
haha, könnte jetzt auch nur mit "Toller Kommentar" antworten 😂 intrinsische und extrinsische Motivation, Geld sollte einen positiven Anreiz schaffen, aber sollte nicht nur der einzige Faktor sein, eher ein schöner Nebeneffekt, wenn man einen Mehrwert schafft. Idealistisch, in der Realität ist es meist eine Mischung, manchmal genügt auch nur das Geld, aber wenn etwas mit Leidenschaft gemacht wird, ist es umso besser.

I don't understand too much about this but I think it is about those who are using multiple accounts or something like that which is too bad act.

I have seen a few being talked about and I think it's more about the intent. If someone publically acknowledges they are in control of X accounts, it's better than trying to pass off as multiple accounts when they aren't. I do agree that it's unfair to an extent and it shouldn't really be done though.

Auf den sozialen Medien dürften Bots den Diskurs häufig nicht unwesentlich beeinflussen. Ich verstehe nicht ganz, warum da nicht mehr dagegen getan wird. Ist das technisch wirklich so schwierig zu bewerkstelligen?
Ja ich habe es gekannt. Aber niemand hat es mir so leicht und verständlich erklärt wie Du.

These kind of frauds are happening a lot nowadays, we should avoid them all, if we open such things, we will do a lot of harm to ourselves because by opening such things, whatever we find inside the wild. They take out all of them.
