Binance delisted BitShares (BTS). Risk for Hive being delisted and what to do about it?

avatar
(Edited)

Was sagt ihr dazu?

Binance to Delist BTS, PERL, TORN, WTC Starting from December 7, 2023

https://www.binance.com/en/feed/post/2023-11-27-binance-to-delist-bts-perl-torn-wtc-starting-from-december-7-2023-606540231922

@lordbutterfly

Binance delists Bitshares // Do we need any more convincing?

English

Binance recently removed BitShares (BTS) and several other coins (PERL, TORN, WTC) from its platform.

This time it was probably not so much for regulatory reasons, but because the development of BitShares had more or less fallen asleep and presumably the trading volume and liquidity no longer met Binance's expectations.

After the delisting, the price of BitShares crashed by another 50% and is unlikely to recover, as BTS is no longer traded on any major exchange and the project no longer even has its own website.

Update: There is still a website and a Bitshares app, didn't find it before:

https://bitsharesgroup.org/

https://xbts.io/

Danger for Hive?

A similar fate could theoretically befall Hive.

Another risk is regulation.

Imagine if the SEC were to classify Hive and most altcoins as securities and then have them removed from Binance, as Binance must now strictly adhere to SEC regulations. That would be the worst-case scenario for most altcoins.

What can we do?

Don't dependent on one exchange only, but list Hive on as many major exchanges as possible. That would even be a sensible DAO project, e.g. getting Hive onto Coinbase.

Expand decentralized exchanges and list Hive on as many decentralized, smaller platforms as possible.

Become so big that Hive can no longer be delisted.

What do you think? How do you see the risk for Hive, what can we do about it?

Live your Secrets and Hive Prosper 🍯

xx Viki @vikisecrets

Yes, there is danger for Hive. Although I think that the one who has started a path towards disappearance is Binance.

BTS did not have a listing on the Korean exchange Upbit. If I'm not mistaken, there are currently 120 million HIVEs on Upbit. The trading volume there is many times greater than on Binance. I don’t think that delisting HIVE from Binance will greatly affect the price of HIVE.

It's good that Hive is on upbit too, but we still need more exchange adoption in my opinion. Just in case for diversification.

Nobody wants to be completely dependent on the Koreans and their dubious pumps and dumps.

Arguably south korea is doing the most to tackle short sellers in traditional markets, so their govt may be more trustworthy in crypto in the long run

Its kind of a good sign that Binance is only supporting "strong" coins in their platform. However, i hope Hive will not be delisted as there are many people supporting Hive.

Is it? Binance will be shut down eventually, all those "strong" coins will be locked away in bankrupcy claims for years

Binance is a huge platform for Hive. If it gets delisted from here then its price will go down a lot and it is likely to lose the market. So better exchange sites should include Hive.

Hive can be traded on the Bitshares Decentralized Exchange :)

Diversifying Hive's presence to other exchanges (significant and decentralized platforms) could be a good strategy in case it gets delisted from Binance. Additionally, strengthening the community and the overall adoption of Hive could help consolidate its position.

That's right we shouldn't dependent on only one exchange.

I was fooled by coinmarketcap and a quick web search, thinking that BTS has no official website any more, should have done more research. Thx for pointing it out.

i agree! hive should list on many major exchanges. but im just wondering why hive could not make its own exchange like binance?

We need to as a community to choose someone to be a representative to push onto our way onto Coinbase. In the US we already have so few choices when it comes to Hive. We need to start getting onto as many exchanges as possible to really see Hive blossom every time there's a bull market.

hive should enlist on crypto.com. that is one of the major exchanges right?

I really hope they don't touch Hive :(

But on a positive note, we have a really strong community and together we can find solutions to any problems thrown at us!

Binance is a big platform no matter whatever scandal the CEO may have
Having Hive delisted may be bad for us
I don’t want that to happen

Binance is not too big to fail.
The reign of their platform and exchange token will come to an end just like FTX

Not really true, BTS core and UIs are regularly receiving upgrades. Have you not seen any of my developer blog posts? Bruh..

Binance is due to get absolutely rekt by the SEC as their guilty pleas are now being used against them in the SEC cases. CZ is going to get decades in jail, not simply 18 months.

as BTS is no longer traded on any major exchange and the project no longer even has its own website.

fake news. pretty manipulative of you.

Thx for the feedback, coinmarketcap did not have links to their website, only the github link, so coinmarketcap, which is owned by Binance, manipulated me in thinking they don't have a website. Added links to their website and app in the article for clarification.

It sucks to hear but I kind of expected Binance to start delisting tokens. We need an exchange but I still think Hive has the BSC swap and the internal market. It just sucks that you can't convert the crypto directly.

BSC, being a binance product, is not long for this world.

It won't happen like this because the community of this project is very strong and we will see that it should not be like this at all, otherwise we will see some things breaking down within the project as it is and its The price may not come down.
