Broiler Birds Are Not Easy To Manage When They Grow Up

Hi Everyone,

It's with great pleasure that am welcoming everyone to my blog and I hope you're all doing well and having a great day. I have come today to share with you some challenges you might faced when your broilersbird grow up because what the information am about to share is the current situation am I going through with my birds.

When I first brought my day old broiler birds in, they look so small and the space left in my bird's pen is so huge since I always brood my birds there. But as time goes by, they started occupying the space and this visible right from when they reach a week old.

During brooding stage of my broiler birds starting from day old to two weeks, I used plastic tray feeder and plastic push-fit drinkers. But I started introducing the small iron feeders when they reach two weeks old because during that period they have increase in weight and height and their feeding consumption and drinking rate keep increasing as they grow up each day.

When they reach four weeks old, the work in my bird's pen become double and their activities increase also because broilersbird tends to eat more during this stage and by that time, I have already introduce bigger feeders and drinkers to them because their feeding efficient started when they reach four weeks old and some even three weeks old but I noticed that my birds usually started consuming more feeds at four weeks.

But some of the challenges I went through when my birds started consuming more feeds is that their feces becomes bigger and they can poop as many as possible per day which makes their pen dirty often. When it comes to raising broilers bird, one of the biggest challenges is to keep their pen or coop clean at all time if one want the birds to stay healthy and also a great production. But it becomes challenging during this period as I have to pack their litters three or two times in a week and replace it with new one. Packing the birds litter is very stressful and it's not an easy thing to do and I that's why raising broiler birds are meant for the strong but not the week because any little negligence may caused a great havocs in poultry farm business.

When the birds finally grow up starting from six weeks old upward, the work in their pen can become even triple because during this period, they are not easy to manage. Starting from their feeding consumption which become challenging and that's why holding up to your birds for a long time is a waste of resources and not profitable because they started eating off your profits especially if your budget for the birds is to raise them for six weeks. Sometimes, the marketing can be challenging because broilersbird are not easy to market and when you're not unable to sell them off at that moment, this leave you with no options than to buy more feeds out of your budget to maintain their weight and for them to stay healthy.

During this period, keeping their pen or coop clean become really tough because of the large amount of feces they excreted per day. The pressure is usually on the poultry farmer during this period because you must make sure to keep them in a great healthy shape if you want to have a good production.

As they grow they consume more feed to gain weight.

Yeah they do but the weight gain start to diminished as they reach eight weeks old. At that moment, they consume more feeds and that is to maintain their weight gain
