Week 14

Hello dear precious metal lovers! Due to my Madrid trip, this new question of the week comes a bit delayed but that's ok, because this week I will double the HSBI shares I give away to 10 in total at the very least. I'm looking forward to spread a bit of shares around and therefore I will reward the commenters on this post a little extra this week.

Some weeks I'm a bit in doubt what I already asked everyone and I yet have to catch up on creating the compilation posts in the near future, but until then, I think I shall start with creating a simple list of the already asked questions to avoid doubles. Sometimes my mind goes into creative overload and I forget if I only thought about asking something or actually did. So a bit of organizing won't do any harm.. With lots of things to consider and walk through in real life, I added this to my to do list but with a little lower priority than some paperwork and boring administration stuff.

"If you have a precious metal wish list: The item you desire to have most is available, the price and funds are no obstacle.. show me which item you'd buy and why."

My answer

At this point in my journey, there are many items I still want to have, but I think this one stands out from the others on my wish list due to the extremely great art.. I was in awe finding it. I even wrote a post about it, click here..

Check out the post I wrote if you like, I'm in awe with this one I can appreciate some art in any form and like I wrote in the post, if I'd ever sin.. this would probably be my number 1 choice (for now).

I could have picked a more valuable silver coin or even a golden one but I just went through my saved wish list on the computer and this is the one that stands out without a doubt. It surely helps that they fit the Mermaid mother and daughter silver round as well lol. They could be related!

Let's hear it, I'm curious if everyone will pick a really expensive item or that there is more to the story of why one would be picked. I suspect there could be a few interesting personal stories shared. At least try to include why you picked that item, rather than just sharing a picture.

Oooo! Now this is a question!

I have been coveting this particular coin for a loooooong time. It has always been expensive, but it keeps getting more and more out of reach.

The 2020 Underwater world Spotted Seal coin!

It is three ounces. Only 999 were ever minted. It comes in a box with a certificate of authenticity and is part of a coin series. The coin has an antique finish with high relief and the ocean color comes from a translucent blue enamel.

Right now this coin is selling for close to $500 on eBay! A few months ago they were selling for about $100 less.

I love the seal’s face! And on the other side I love the fish, and turtles and full underwater scene that surrounds the Barbados coat of arms.

My dream coin! 😃 🦭

Is that a high relief coin as well? I like the reverse with all the random marine life jumping around.

It is high relief! The back reminds me a lot of that Sydney Harbour Bridge coin. Just this is fish instead of boats.

Wow, not the underwater mermaids but seal, I can only say, it's a very pretty one you picked there for sure. High premium though, but I can see why this ended up on the top of your list. Great one, thanks for sharing!

It's a full Kilo of fine silver and I absolutely love it! I'm a big fan of the Mexican Mint and Aztec style art. I have some 1oz rounds with the calendar but they are just too small to enjoy the details in the calendar.

I've never even held a Kilo of silver but I can imagine it would be awesome. I've post about this coin before, trying to manifest it 😃

It comes in a sweet velvet lined wood display box as well...

I !LUV it! I've been checking some 1oz aztec calendar rounds myself for several times but none of them were as beautiful as this one. This is a great pick for sure! And yeah, you can always try to put it on the list, lol who knows!

My 2023 12 Days of Christmas posts would give you a good ideal. A variety judiciously plucked from a variety of lists beginning with the 'Practical & Realistic' shopping list all the way to the 'No hope in Hell' Shopping list. 'Now Topping' the later list is any gold 8 Escudo coin from the 1708 San Jose Spanish galleon shipwreck. More realistic would be an 8 Reales silver cob with a full date marked from the Peruvian colonial mint.

I do endeavor to make quality comments when I can, taking extra attention to the content of the post's writer, especially with junior accounts that could use a little encouragement, attention, meaningful, and maybe constructive advice. Keeping to a higher standard by those who blazed the way for us.

Yet, I have my good days, and more than enough bad ones that I just upvote when I can't focus let alone put a cogent sentences together after a few attempts. Writing is not getting any easier for me as emotional issues still plague my thoughts since losing Deb last September. I'm still grieving since what's in my head has yet to reach my heart.

I'm not very picky about coins, I don't always look for the most expensive but I would love to have something in my collection like this one, for example, the Super Mario one that marked my childhood, I would love to have it in my collection

Your choice is beautiful, and I must admit that coins with insets still have me kind of fascinated. Mostly I just want to know how they're made, but I'm afraid researching it will put me down a multi-hour rabbit hole. So I'm waiting until I have more free time! 😆
