A wave of concern washed over me when I learned that Dominic Mysterio had gotten injured during his match with Gunther on RAW.
The thought of the pain and uncertainty he is going through, knowing he’s in the hospital fighting for recovery, feels heart-rending. This is a disheartening experience as a wrestling fan to see such a promising talent suffer from such an unfortunate setback.
This incident might have derailed Dominic’s greatest chance at WrestleMania, which is incredibly disappointing if we should receive tgat news.
His fight against Gunther was meant to be his time to shine but it turned out into a nightmare instead.
The description of the match itself was spine-chilling. The countless chest hits on Dominic, powerbombs as well as Boston crab I believe caused that injury. Seeing him backstage in pain with Rhea Ripley by his side only adds more weight.
Well, wrestling is a sport which gets the blood of fans pumping. Nevertheless such occurrences serve as a sober reminder of the actual risks that are associated with the game. Wrestlers put their lives on the line every time they get into the ring, and it can be catastrophic in certain instances.
Apart from being fan, I am filled with empathy for Dominic and his family. It’s so sad to hear that his father Rey Mysterio is devastated by this news. Irrespective of any personal differences they may have had(storyline wise), this bond between parent and child cannot be broken.
In times like these, all that really matters is Dominic’s health. Though he may not wrestle for some time now, his recovery is what matters. Wrestling is never going to go away, so we will definitely see him back.
