Dear diary,

I sit here writing a new entry today detailing my struggles with this darned computer. The progression of technology has brought us so far and at the same time has introduced so many headaches. My headache involves my document editing software.

My thesis has been an ongoing project for months now and I've been diligently working on it each day. I'm a good computer user so I make multiple backups of my work both online and offline. The strangest event happened last night. I saved my work and synced it to multiple spots automatically and I thought everything was fine but it turned out it wasn't.

The next day I opened my document and there was a new paragraph present I never wrote!

"Hello my friend, I enjoy reading your thoughts on the matter."

I literally jumped out of my seat. What is happening here? Did someone play a strange joke on me? I'm now worried as I don't know if they might have changed or added something to my work.

Writing in this diary using a good old-fashioned pen only has so many points of failure. I might run out of ink, paper or at worst my dog might shred it up. I'm wondering if I'm doing it all wrong? I used to write all my papers on actual paper and type it up later.

I almost forgot, I have a Hermes 3000 typewriter sitting beside me with a fresh ribbon installed. You can't beat a classic and I love the sound of the clicking and clacking.

In the meantime I will need to investigate the origin of this message in my thesis more fully. I might have a new friend that can proofread my work and provide suggestions. We could all use one of those.
