Rising Up The Hive Engine Witness Ranks to Number 3

I am really excited to currently be sitting in the Top 3 position in the Hive Engine Witness group! I want to thank everyone that has faith in me to do what I can to support the ecosystem with not only my hopefully educational content, and the various use cases I have tried to bring to the ecosystem like @hivelist and others, but also providing infrastructure as a Hive Engine Witness!

Wait, Hive Engine Has Witnesses?

Yes, for those that may not know, the Hive Engine side chain that runs all the fun community tokens and Hive based NFTs that you get is built on a decentralized witness structure very similar to how the Hive main chain works. Many of these witnesses are people who run communities built on Hive Engine, like myself, or those who just love to support blockchain infrastructure! To support and vote for these witnesses on Tribaldex, you need to purchase and stake WORKERBEE tokens, which is Hive Engine's version of Hive Power. By staking these, you have witness voting weight, and you also earn the BEE token for staking, which is the main Hive Engine token.

This support has helped me continue to try my best for the community and helps pay the server bills for my various projects, as well as my main witness and what has been my backup witness, which I am in the process of setting up in my home location now that I have really fast fiber internet.

A Little About My Current Witness Setup

My primary witness is an offsite VPS hosted by a very reputable company and I rarely have any issues with the machine. The only issue I really ever have with my Hive Engine witness is with the Hive API nodes I have to connect with. My current backup is using the same VPS service, just not as powerful of a unit. So I want to save the monthly payments and run my own infrastructure here on the homestead, starting with the backup witness node.

Future Self Hosting Plans

Once I feel that my backup witness and my fiber internet connection is stable enough to run as a main witness, I will be getting yet another machine, and using one as backup and the other as the main witness. The goal is to host everything onsite and eventually add solar to my homestead setup to offset the power usage of the machines.

If these machines don't work out for witnessing, well they will alway mine some Monero, so it's never a loss when buying extra computers, haha. Hopefully they work out for this though and I can eventually get a build going for an onsite Hive main chain witness!

So anyway, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to all of the people who support my efforts as a Hive Engine witness! It means a lot to see that people are still supporting my efforts here on the Hive blockchain, even if my post rewards haven't been reflecting that lately, haha. Supporting my efforts with infrastructure is a big help though, and hope to keep your support in the future!
