The Car and Arctic Monkeys for week 74 of ttt

How often do you listen to new albums?

I felt a chill the other night, and can feel winter trying to make its way over here.

Hopefully, we will have many more autumnal days before the arctic weather arrives.

First of all ...

Hello Hello to all the music lovers of Hive

It is Tuesday once and that of course means that it is #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

image.png

Let's get stuck right in...

The formalities

If you wish to participate in Three Tune Tuesday then I defer you to the simple jist on how to do it from @ablaze ...

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

This week is week 74 of ttt and if you wish to participate then follow the rules laid out by @ablaze in his post from last week A trio of tunes from 1973 for Three Tune Tuesday Week 73

Formalities over, let's pick up on that arctic theme

So last week a band released a new album for the first time since 2018.

This band is from Sheffield in England and is none other than Arctic Monkeys.

The title of the first tune may well be something that the Charming Rascal say!

Tune 1 Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine?

We shall jump in somewhere in the middle.

R U Mine is the second track from Arctic Monkeys’ fifth AM which was released in September 2013.

We shall go back to the beginning now before ending with something brand new!

Tune 2 Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

Don't believe the hype he says!

That was their debut single and came from their debut studio album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006).

It debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 23 October 2005,

Funfact about music, bands and the intenet..

The Arctic Monkeys began to gain popularity as they handed out CDs, containing their 18 demo tracks, at various gigs. The group also gained quite the following on the social media platform MySpace, and are now described as one of the first bands to come to the public’s attention through the Internet.

Tune 3 Arctic Monkeys - The Car

So here we have The Car the title track from their seventh album The Car which was released last week...

I have not made my mind up about the album yet.

From some reviews, some fans are not so happy!

For me there is some Bowie in this one, which is always good.

Variety is the spice of life eh!

I hope that you enjoyed this trio of tunes from English band Arctic Monkeys!

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

I think I will go for the first tune (R U Mine?) The beat at the beginning of each tunes is what I enjoyed too. Those were beautiful songs from the Arctic Monkeys.

I like the rawness of the first two songs. The Car sounds more mature, and I see what you mean about the Bowie influence.

Yes the rawress creeps out of them going from album 1 through to the seventh album.
I just finished listening to it, it is okay but not my favourite that is for sure.

Indeed. It has started to get really hot here. I was so thirsty today at work...

ah be careful and keep hydrated as they say.
We get the strange weather time, it is forecast to be cold so they put heating on overnight, it does not get cold and then place is sickly warm when you come to work!

Really? Have they not got temperature setpoint controls in place?

So they say, but often they just override them..

Well, that is why you have a problem. The idea is that stepoints keep a building between two temperatures and it switches on and off as needed.

If you ask for 21C then it cools(or heats) down till it gets to 21C and then rests. If your windows are closed and you have curtains this will last longer. The moment the temperature inside measures 22C or 20C, the AC should switch on and cool or heat as needed again.

Oh yes in theory that is what is in place, however setpoints are all fine and dandy but can be over riden by human arses who pretend they are not working etc.

Absolutely. We see it with our customers all the time. They bypass and operate it manually.

Yep and then they will moan that it does not work!

Absolutely. But I have also had customers who complain, I leave, I adjust nothing because I havent had a chance yet and when I walk past them again they tell me that it's much better now thank you! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅😅😅

I like some songs by The Artic Monkeys, it's been a while since I've listened to them, and it's a very fortunate opportunity that you're bringing them up today. Of the three songs you share, I like The Car, and yes, it has a tinge reminiscent of Bowie, which is nice. Good to see you today @tengolotodo.

Ah the arctic weather on the way and a stream of consciousness brings you to the tunes of the Arctic Monkeys... Nice! Three great choices too man, I remember when these guys first came on the scene and I was really impressed, for such young lads, their lyrics had great depth and understanding.

OH, they are so good.
I remember in 2015 I bought the 2014 edition of Rocksmith and R U Mine was included there. I think I spent over 20 hours playing that song :-)
