Hello Hello to all you wonderful Hivians and music lovers

It's a cult of Blue Öysters on ttt153

Tuesday for me on Hive means three tune tuesday...

If you know me then you know I love to take my inspiration from somewhere.

Well this week is no different!

Today the inspiration comes from Audible Books ... or more precisely JK Rowling ...

I do love listening to audible books, as you can read a book while doing something else so to speak, Mrs T loves them as she listens at work whilst soldering.

So a wee tribute to one of the books from JK Rowling.

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

@ablaze started #ttt 153 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post Lankum for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 153 - 12 HBI shares to be won!

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the TWELVE sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

Today we are going to have fun with some Blue Öyster Cult songs!

So I mentioned JK Rowling and yes I am Harry Potter fan but I am a huge fan of the writing of JK Rowling...

So today is NOT about Harry Potter inspired songs!

Fluff no... Who has heard of the author Robert Galbraith?

First of all let me put this link ...
The official Robert Galbraith website

The link is

For new or existing fans of the Cormoran Strike novels & TV series – classic crime whodunnits with a modern twist.

I did see Cormoran Strike on TV years ago and only afterwards found out that the author Robert Galbraith was indeed JK Rowling.

The fourth book in the series the one we have been listening to is called Lethal White and in it each chapter references Blue Öyster Cult songs.

She is either a huge fan or did a lot of research or both. That is one reason I love her is the amount of reserarch she does. I know in my novel I have researched until the cows come home!

Enough waffling , the band are from the States and one of them ost underrated bands of the 70s in my opinion ....

Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper

(Don't fear the Reaper) Baby, take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper) We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper) Baby, I'm your man

That chorus .... I bet you recognise it now!

Funnily enough I said to Mrs T I don't know any Blue Öyster Songs....

Her reaction ....

"Fluffing nonsense .... Alexa play Blue Oyster Cult!"

So yeah we start off with probably their most iconic song of all!

image.png

Blue Öyster Cult - Burnin' For You

I did say they are probably one of the unsung bands of the 70s...

Well just to confuse you and me, here is one that was released in 1981!

I was on the wiki page and saw this ....

On April 12, 2024, Blue Öyster Cult released their sixteenth and final studio album Ghost Stories

Only a couple of weeks ago BOC released their last album. there we go, how apt is this ttt after all!

image.png

Okay Okay carnivals and fairgrounds etc for me are really for kids, so when I think of wheels I have to play as a fun tune, what Mrs T and I had to sing with our nephew when he was a wee bairn many years ago....

Don't worry a bonus tune is included!

Here is the animated nursery rhyme

Blue Öyster Cult - Godzilla

In the back of my mind there is a Godzilla film coming out soon or it has just come out! Who knows 🦍

So here you and we close out with probably the third most recognasibale Blue Oyster Cult song for me and that is Godzilla

And of course I think a live version to finish us off really set the tone for the rest of Tuesday and our week!

I hope that you enjoyed these Blue Öyster Cult tunes.

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

I like Blue Oyster Cult, but I can't listen to them anymore without thinking of that famous Saturday Night Live sketch!

From the 1970s to April 2024, that's quite a long span. I can't think of any other band that lasted that long. How did they manage to continue working together?

I love Don't Fear the Reaper, but for some reason I completely missed out on other songs by this great group. Thanks for the reminder and for sharing the other two. I need to check out their discography.

Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife

Awesome pick for the week! I love Blue Oyster Cult, three of their best. I've seen them play before, what a great band! Don't fear the reaper has always been my favorite but burning for you isn't far behind!
