Guided by the path on the castle walk home

Hello Hello Hivians

It has been a while and I wanted to share the last wee jaunt on our walk to and from our local castle Balwearie Castle in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland.

You know here we are, the first Wednesday in October and I must say that we had a gorgeous June, and that was it for summer, I stupidly said I bet that is our summer, you see, that's what happens when you put things out into the Universe!

7900 ww 30 aug 1.jpg

Yes the weather was fine, in that direction at least!

When we turned round though, this is the cloud had me thinking it was a good idea that Mrs T is so used to the UK that she always takes an umbrella with her!

7911 Wed Walk 9 Aug 16.jpg

Unperturbed we set off back down the track which veered off the main road.

7912 ww 30 aug 2.jpg

Do you see on the right side of the track there are some signs, well one of them had me a bit baffled...

7914 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Protected by CCTV?

What was and where was it! It was fields.

Oh well we can't dilly dally there is rain in those clouds and I don't fancy getting wet!

7916 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

That is actually steeper than it looked and it had a gorgeous old stone wall to the left because you can not see actually how steep it is.

There was though a flipping hole in it!

7921 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Crops were growing well.

7929 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

This didn't come out as well as it looked in the flesh or is that in the greenery! It is meant to be foilage heart.

7936 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Today is world animal day so of course I have to put in some of the 🐎 that we saw. Actually we do often see them on another walk that we do.

7939 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

There are four and they are in fields perpendicular to this track that we are walking down!

7940 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

I love how they don't bother cutting the grass etc, it is all down to the horses, the four-hoofed lawnmowers.

7941 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

I heard running water and thought there was another hidden waterfall.

7944 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

So I did cross along that log walkway, what I thought I heard I could not see,

7947 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Down the bottom of the hill and there was a dog walker, she had six or seven dogs. I bet she does not pick up their poop when they are in a field.

7952 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Some of you might remember I often have water in some of my walking posts, well this is the narrowed downburn that you see.

7949 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

It does have a wee waterfall which is always pleasing on the ears!

7955 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

There goes the burn winding its way around the green of the golf course.

7956 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

The Ryder Cup was on at the weekend and Europe took it back from America!

Actually, I posted my ttt post on Tuesday about golfing songs!

7957 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Up top of the hill I was reminded of @jellyvine as we had been talking about farming and livestock!

7958 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Who knows the leaf of that tree?

7959 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

And here we back at the end of the wooded trail, I love this shot as it gives a sense of speeding leaves lol.

7960 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

We were coming up the road from the golf course and saw a line of people with plates outside this van.

7961 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

He is a fishmonger and puts their fish on the plate. Pretty cool so have included this picture with their number as a reminder for me to phone!

7962 ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

Do you have many gardens with roses?

They used to be everywhere, but now very few I think people think they are hard work or are for old people!

ww 4 Oct 23.jpg

I have to put this gorgeous wee bee here!

I have written a Wednesday Walk on my list of to-write blogs and wow!! Thank you for sharing this, and tagging me and I'll know what to do (but I do know I can't be up to par with this, you have awesome pathways). I'm going to go out of my way for my Wednesday blogs. Great thing my goat gave birth so I'll be looking for her once a week at least and have fun walking. 🤭

That is a great list and I love to see ttt and WW on there! Oh your goat gave birth, that is cool and yes now you have even more reasons to make a #wednesdaywalk post!

I think that of all the posts I've seen on Wednesday today this one seems to me to show one of the best places to take a walk. The trails are well marked and there is a lot of nature around. How beautiful these places where the green color of the vegetation, the blue of the sky and the white of the clouds predominate, a perfect combination...

Thank you so much, the colours really came out perfect and show nature at her finest indeed.

Thanks to the rain you have everything so green. 🙂
That woman with the dogs, I wonder how one can handle so many at the time.

Yes that is what I tell people, it is rain that keeps things green. Like it or not lol.
Yes I was wondering how she handles all those dogs too!

Wow, what a beautiful area! I think I would go there pretty much every day if I lived so close. It looks amazing! We had a stretch of abnormally warm days this week. I think two days ago it hit 87 which is odd but not unheard of for October.

I myself never use an umbrella, but have considered getting a bigger one to have over my camera for some rainy day shots but have never got around to it

MY wife on the other hand always wants an umbrella at hand, but hey she is originally from the UK so maybe thats where she got that habit

a lovely walk, strange having cctv in the fields

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)

Hola hola, Super Ed!
If I need to have an umbrella with me, I will have a hard time in the UK since I never use one. And the few times I have used it, I lose it, hehe.

I bet she does not pick up their poop when they are in a field.

You are probably right but she should. Lately, hiking close to home, I've noticed that some owners don't pick up their dogs' poop on the mountain assuming they are in "nature". But besides being quite unpleasant, it really affects the ecosystem.

Beautiful walk for sure, I saw the heart in the foliage, so cool.

Enjoyed seeing the beauty of Scotland, enjoy the weekend.

This is where you live? It looks like a place that I've always dreamed to live. It's not going to happen for me in this stage of my life though. Maybe in my next life.
