Hello Hivians and Hello Silver Bloggers!

We have closed in on November

The first week of November is almost over! Today as I write this is the sixth of November, and if this is your first time here then thank you for visiting. If you have come back then thank you heaps, that means a lot so thank you!

I have not posted a blog in November from this, my main account! In fact I have only posted two blogs all month anywhere!

So I thought it would be apt to make this post all about a challenge for November.

That challenge is NaPodPoMo

I want to participate in #NaPodPoMo and I have this hairbrained idea to run a few Spaces on X (formerly Twitter) and then somehow with the magic that is the interwebby put them on a podcast.

Yes it seems Matilda has trapped herself in a vat of GIN and has got lost.

Actually I had recorded an introductory Spaces on X (formerly Twitter). I had never spoken or hosted at a Spaces sowascurious to get the stage set and see how it all works.

Of course, Billy NoMates was having a hard time on his own trying to get it to work. So a bight thank you to @alohaed and the wonderful @wongi who stepped up to rescue me in my hour of need at nearly midnight! Big thank you to both of you.

It successfully has been sent to Zealous, but now I am on the hunt for an audio editing app before I can put it somewhere on Hive.

I am sure that I will be coming to see you all in the Creative Work Hour!

National Podcast Post Month aka NaPodPoMo

In 2007, 50 podcasters participated in the first ever National Podcast Post Month aka NaPodPoMo. Created by Jennifer Navarrete as an answer for an audio version to other 30 day challenges happening in the month of November.

That is taken from NaPodPoMo and we are extremely fortunate in that Jennifer Navarrete is our very own @epodcaster

Last year I created a podcast called It Takes Two To Tengo ...

This is where Matilda made her debut and it was courtesy of a @dreemport challenge, so thank you @dreemsteem for helping to give birth to her.

Well don't you know but Mrs T said she wanted to make a podcast but didn't know how.

I thought she had forgotten about it, but oh no, on the 1st of November I get a text from her at work asking about the podcast.

I presumed she meant Matilda, but no she meant hers...

What the fluff, I had no clue what to do for her lol.

One of my many faults is that I can think on my fault and lie through my teeth.

"Have you sorted my podcast?"

Of course...

"So what is about?"

Wait and see when you come home.

One thing is I know how to read people, as much as Mrs T could chat the hind legs off a donkey in real life, put her behind a camera where there is nobody watching and she gets anxious!

The charming rascal AKA devious bastard at work!

No sooner had Mrs T come home from work, I grabbed her phone, pushed her onto the couch and quickly hit record....

The result ... A spontaneous podcast where I actually helped by giving Mrs T no clue what was happening!

You've got too many standing stones up in the bit of the world, lol. Most of ours are long since turned into bits of churches 😢 Including the one that local tales say is at the top of the hill my house is on, so at least part of it could be right under my front garden !

The only other Scottish one which springs to mind is the circle at Brodgar, but I'm sure there are plenty of others I've never heard of !

The Ring of Brogar in Orkney! I use to live there as a kid and we went in and about the stones now you are allowed! Took Mrs T there in the summer. These are just massive and there are churches in sandstone aka St Magnus Cathedral.

Including the one that local tales say is at the top of the hill my house is on, so at least part of it could be right under my front garden !

How cool would that be, should get Time Team out to investigate!

I've always thought it would be good to get some local university to send a geophys team out to do a scan. Getting all the permissions together would be quite complex, but I have a crazy vision of finding a posthole and putting a new sarsen in it 😁.

When a neighbour further down the hill had his extension built it turned out a lot more complex than expected because they had to dig out some serious chunks of sarsen stone which won't have been part of the bedrock.

hehe absolutely NOT!
I am not good in writing posts as you can tell by how infrequently I am writing CJ.
The podcasts are whip the phone out hit record and go and that is it. Mrs T doesn't even know what we will talk about until we are live on air 🤣

For a moment, I thought the pictures were actually sourced images, you captured them so well. However, I can't exactly place a name.. it reminds me of mystical movies when the demi-gods are all gathered and having a meeting.

Everything about this post is really exciting. I like how spontaneously this journey began. I'm heading over to listen to the podcasts 🤸.

It's not that Spotify is not available here. It's your content that I can't see because it's not available for my region, I think it's the podcasts that can't be listened to on Spotify here. 🤷‍♀️

I've never done a podcast but the husband has. I remember that they uploaded it not only on Spotify but also on iTunes and Google podcasts, and you could listen to it on Anchor directly. What about yours, don't you have an anchor link?

Yes! It really is that simple @rukkie Podcast can be complicated with lots of gear and tech but it doesn't need to be. Grab your phone and start recording.

By the way, the monthlong challenge is open and can be joined at any time. Feel free to join the NaPodPoMo support sessions at 9am-10am ET/2pm-3pm UTC. These are hosted by Creative Work Hour are a wonderful support sessions to guide and encourage National Podcast Post Month challengers.

Yes, indeed. Aureal will import your RSS feed from anywhere it lives.

However, @coquicoin shouldn't need Spotify to listen to your podcast. Share your RSS feed with @coquicoin and they will be able to put that into their podcast listening app of choice. RSS is cool like that. 😉

Fabulous, I started listening to your podcast. Mrs T is a natural. It seems they are all in Spotify... so I shall listen there. I thought you would have popped them via Aureal so that they automatically post to Hive, or was that by design? Hehe thanks Sam, she really is a natural. The Aureal thing seemed to be a bit glitchy a while ago, so I thought I would just do anchor again but that has been bought by spotify podcasts which I must admit I am disappointed in as we were able to post to Aureal from anchor, I presumed you could do the same from spotify podcast, it is not user friendly and I regret it now!
