Kicking off 2024 LPUD in style

Today is the 15th of the month, and in the Den that means it is power up day.

Yes #LPUD is upon us or Leo Power Up Day.

I have had a few new cubs to our blockchain ask what is Leo and what is LPUD...

So, just remember you were new too, and when it comes to the Blockchain there really isn't a silly question.

Every day I either learn something new or get remember something. They do say it takes you seeing/hearing something 13 times before it sinks into your memory for good!

LPUD - What is it?

LPUD stands for Leo Power Up Day and is held on the fifteenth of every month! It is a tradition that has been happening since the 15th of June 2022 and this is the first event of the new year 2024.

As a sidenote 2024 is going to be a massive year of growth for InLeo as we need to be having over 10k monthly active users or Khal needs to repay the DHF 250k $HBD or something like that.

Anyway more of that when you delve into InLeo.

So you will see people saying Happy LPUD on threads and posts, now you know why, it is to celebrate Leo Power Up Day.

The event is designed to bring awareness of the importance of staking of LEO.

What is a Power Up?

It is when you take your liquid coins from your HIve wallet and convert into power.

In the case of Leo Power Up, we take our liquid $LEO tokens and convert them into Leo Power by staking them on-chain.

Why should you Power Up?

When you Power UP you are increasing your overall Leo Power.

The higher your Leo Power the more your voting power is, which means the rewards for you as a content curator and for the content creator you create will go up to.

It is classic example of the win-win situation.

Additionally it removes LEO tokens from the floating supply.

What is LPUD event?

Traditionally the event has been marked with prizes for those who participate. Some community members offer delegations of Leo Power for a few weeks.

By being delegated more Leo Power, then if you curate, then your vote is worth more and you can grow your stake faster!

To be eligible you should power up 150$LEO and make a post, including a bit about your power up.

Of course if your post is good quality then you may get get a visit from Leo voter curation and they are always fun!

I do recommend always publishing an InLeo post from the InLeo UI for a few reasons.

One reason being that you will be aligible for evergreen rewards.

When I joined HIve, it did take me a while to get my head around the 7 day rewards system. Which seemed to me to defeat the object of having a post that was not time specific. Well now it does not matter, as long as you post it with the InLeo you are eligible for Leo rewards after 7 days!

This is all down to the LeoAds contract which went live this January.

We are all eagerly waiting to see people get their first payout!

Did I power up?

Yes, Yes I did. I have been powering up 5 LEO daily and today I powered up 150 LEO for LPUD.
