Introduction

@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!

Our picks

This week we are all about Kraftwerk. The very pioneers of synth music and sequencers. Without them I am not sure what would have happened with the development of modern electronic music. They were so influential not only with their sound but with the way they used and developed technology. There home made instruments gave them a unique and at the time a very fresh sound. Now it does sound mundane as anyone can make those synths sounds but at the time this was artistic innovation at one of its highest levels.

If you want to delve into them then here is the wiki link! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraftwerk

Song 1

Ok so this is a classic Kraftwerk tune. Listen to the arps and the sequences. I mean it sounds lush in an old kind of way. Now the things that they always got away with is the vocals....if I suggested those vocals on a SUB track the other boys would kick me out of the studio. However for them it was very much part of their sound. Now have a listen and drive your car....and have fun fun fun

Song 2

Ok now if you got a spare 13 minutes this is the tune for you. I always loved this and you can clearly hear there use of filters in what they are doing as well as the pioneering vocal sounds. I remember I used to request this as a kid on our long car trips around Europe and I used to drift off to sleep in the back of the car as we went through the French or Italian countryside. Its main synth riff is also especially catchy and they have some interesting quite haunting. Also nice to have a bit of French in there...

Song 3

Now this is a song I used to sing a long to. What is odd is that it also became one of my sons favourite songs when I introduced him to Kraftwerk. You have some interesting sounds here and use of reverb on that step hit running all the way through. Again giving it a haunting sound. The vocals again would be kicked out of the studio if someone came and sang that but yet again it is an integral part of the sound and I believe very deliberate in its execution.

We love all types of music and hope that you like our choices!

Big up all the music in the world and the joy we get making and listening to it!

Great choice. TEE is brilliant and also nice that it is a nice long tune and not so short as they make them these days.

It was a great experience. Perhaps you'll get another chance, as I'm sure they play in Europe more than in the US!

These are great choices. Never heard of Kraftwerk but they sound lovely as I listen to them. Has a really rhythmic vibe to it. Happy Tuesday to you all.✨

Das Modell... I've seen there also exists an English version, but for my ears prefer the original
Now inspired by your post, will have to dive in some other Kraftwerk tunes I think
