Switching Browsers: Why I moved from Chrome to Opera and then to Edge

Initially, I was first a Chrome Browser user, and then I had to stop using chrome browser as it is popularly known as "Ram Eater" as it eats a lot of RAM space. This made me leave chrome and then begin using Microsoft Edge. This period was during the period before AI started emerging and becoming popular. When AI started becoming popular, i.e. chatbots like OpenAI, browsers started abducting the use of AI and the first that I knew of was Opera Browser with their "Aria AI".

Although I know about Opera Browser, I was influenced to use it by a friend when we had a live meeting and he was showing me something from his browser. His Browser back then was "Opera Browser," and it was so beautiful. I mean the colors and everything, unlike the Edge browser, that looks just there.

With Opera, I had access to easily make use of ChatGPT at the side bar, and other social accounts like Messenger, Telegram, WhatsApp, and X.com. What really caught my attention was the fact that I could easily download YouTube videos because of the safefromnet extension (which I think was made by Opera).

All these were my reasons, but now, I am leaving Opera Mini and going back to Microsoft Edge because of two reasons which I will be sharing with you.

MY FIRST REASON

Microsoft Edge is the browser for Windows, and this means that it has been made to be lighter in RAM storage as compared to other browsers like Chrome and Opera Browser.

Aside from this, Microsoft edge has the Split Screen feature which I find really productive. I have found this same feature in other browsers like Arc Browser.

I can be making threads and at the same time checking something in my profile, or even checking my notifications for replies while threading at the same time. I find this feature quite interesting and too bad; it is not available on the Opera Browser. It was one of the major reasons why I moved back to Microsoft Edge.

MY SECOND REASON

The second reason is the integration of Copilot on Microsoft Edge. Yes I know that Opera Mini h as Aria AI, but it does not work like the way Copilot does. For instance, I can open a website or a post of mine preferrably, and set Copilot to access the post and give me information on my posts based on the questions I asked. Let us use the post I made yesterday as an example.

The copilot is at the side bar by the right, and I asked it a question. You can see the question that I typed into it below:

It gave me a concise summary of what my post was about.

Awesome right? I know there is a similar feature on peakd but guess what. I use copilot to autogenerate threadstorm for my post by giving it a prompt. So I will be using this prompt and let us see how it goes:

From the page, create a threadstorm of three threads by following the following rules:

1. Identify the thread number using 🧵i.e. 1/🧵
2. Only the first thread should have the hashtags, #outreach #threadstorm. Then you can add two other hashtags that relates to the thread.
3. The third thread should have the hashtag #inleo #gosh and then leave an invitation to read more through the post link.
4. Each thread should be of a length of 250 character maximum.

But to do this, make sure you have set the source to your article. You can do it this way:

Just above your textbox you can change it or by using the symbol '@' for quick and easy access.

These two reason were what drove me back to Microsoft Edge from Opera Mini. Although I make use of Opera Browser once a while because I am used to opening the app when I was to get access to the internet then later, I switch back to Microsoft Edge.
