Oraimo Boompop Showdown: Pop vs. Pop2 vs. Pop2s

One of the devices that have been entering my eye these past few months is the Oraimo Boompop2s Headphones, and this is because I fell in love with one of their headphones recently after making use of the one my friend owns.

The headphone that my friend owns is different from this one, as this one in particular is the latest release by Oraimo with a special feature, which is the gesture control that can be used to play/pause, and make other controls while listening to music or making calls. This particular feature is the main attraction.

This is the particular headphone he owns:

Aside from these two, there is also another cheaper alternative, a more affordable one, which costs about $20.

This particular product is currently out of stock on the Oraimo website. I had once tried ordering for it when it was still about $30, but cancelled the order because of I could not afford it at the time. Now, it looks like because of the drop in price tag, the number of orders has increased, making the product sell out.

Let us take a quick look into their individual specifications

Battery Capacity

The Oraimo Boompop2 and Boompop2s come with exactly the same specifications, with two major differences: first, the use of gesture control available in the pop2s, and second, the better battery capacity that the boompop2 offers.

Both the Boompop2 and Boompop2s have a higher battery capacity than the Oraimo Boompop, with a battery capacity that can last for 40 hours as opposed to 60 hours and 50 hours, respectively, for the Pop2 and Pop2s.

Bluetooth Version

The Pop2s uses a Bluetooth version of 5.3, while the Pop2 uses a version of 5.2, and the Pop uses a version of 5.0. As for this, you can see that the Pop2s uses the latest version of the Bluetooth version, which makes it a better choice in this case.

As for the charging time, they have the same charging time of 1.5 hours

External SD Card

This is a major difference that I have noticed in the Oraimo headphones. The Pop2s and the Pop2 headphones do not come with an external SD slot, but for the Pop headphones, there is a space left to make use of an external SD card.

For me, this is not a major issue, as I don't keep my music on my phone and I always prefer to stream music on Spotify.

From the looks of it, I would order for the one with the gesture control because I am crazy about the feature and I would love to to explore. When the product arrives, I will make an unboxing post and publish it here.
