Mom's Cooking: The Best Part of Being Home

It feels good to be at my parents' place and one of the things that I missed when I was back here was not having to worry about what to eat compared to when I was at my place and if I don't make plans on time, I will be dealt with hunger.

I got home very late yesterday after leaving my place 4pm in the evening. I think the time I got home was 9pm or a little past that time. I called my mom when I got to the gate, she didn't know I was around as I did not inform her that I was coming back home. When I told her I was around, she said, Really! she was surprised to see me home and came out to open the gate for me.

One thing I love about my mom and informing her when I am coming home is that she makes sure she prepares a really nice dish for me to eat when I get back home. This time I did not inform her but still, I met food at home and I was super glad and I said in mind, This is what I have been missing all these years.

Then my mom asked me:? why are you back home, Are you on holidays? or haven't you resumed the second semester? She was asking me all these questions because the countless times her and my dad had asked me to come around, I had always told them I had a lot to do in school and I don't have the time to come around.

Then I told her, I came because of her birthday and I will be leaving the next day. She was so surprised. I think she may have thought that the reason I am back home was for the program they were having at church the next day, and my dad being the reason why I chose to come home, so that I could attend the program but truth is, I care less about the program. If my mum's birthday did not fall a day to the program, I will not be back to my parent's place.

I only wanted to wish my mum a happy birthday and get to give her the little gift I had bought for her since February and go back to school the next day to continue on with my life and hustle.

Today is my mum's birthday. I woke up quite late, and was too tired to join morning devotion. She did not disturb me to join because she knew that I may have been stressed from the travelling and that I needed all the rest. When I finally woke up, she was not home, and I was told that she had gone to church for a program she had some other church committee members are planning for.

The day is still young, let us see how everything turn out. Happy birthday to my beautiful mother
