Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well!

As the calendar turned to November 1, 2023, my family embarked on a journey that has become a cherished tradition. All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day hold a special place in our hearts as we remember and honor our departed loved ones. This year, my elder sister, her husband and I together with my nieces joined on this poignant pilgrimage.

My brother in law used their family van, we set out for the old cemetery. As we approached our destination, a scene unfolded that is unique to these days of remembrance.

A Bustling Scene Near the Cemetery

The road leading to the old cemetery was transformed into a bustling marketplace. Vendors lined the streets, offering everything from candles to flowers and delicious foods. It's a stark contrast to the quietness of ordinary days. These entrepreneurs seize the opportunity to provide for the needs of the countless visitors paying their respects.

But it's not just the vendors who come to serve. Law enforcement officers, firemen, and other public servants work diligently to ensure the safety of everyone in the cemetery. A fire truck stands ready, a symbol of their commitment to our well-being. Additionally, representatives from the church have set up tables, collecting donations for the church and offering prayers for the souls we wish to remember.

A Visit to the Graves

Upon our arrival at the old cemetery, we entered with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits. We proceeded to the resting places of our dearly departed, lighting candles and placing flowers on their graves. The air was filled with a solemn serenity, and the scent of burning incense wafted through the area.

As we said our prayers, I couldn't help but feel a strong connection to those who have left this world. The emotions were palpable, and the prayers felt like a bridge between this world and the next.

A Dash to Beat the Rain

Our visit to the old cemetery was shortened by an impending downpour. The skies threatened to open up, and we made a dash back to our van just in the nick of time. Thankfully, we found shelter inside the vehicle, the rain washing away not our spirits but the dusty roads.

A Brief Stop in Carigara

Before we headed to the new cemetery, we made a pit stop in Carigara. My sister and her husband had some shopping to do. My nieces and I waited in the van, gazing out at the tranquil town, which had been refreshed by the rain.

Visiting the New Cemetery

With our errands completed, we returned to our journey. This time, we headed to the new cemetery. As we arrived, the rain had ceased. We lit candles, placed flowers, and offered our prayers once more.

A Second Journey: November 2nd

On November 2, my mother and I embarked on another trip to the cemetery. I accompanied her, as she wasn't able to visit on November 1st. This second visit was marked by a profound sense of responsibility and love. We made our way through the rows of graves, paying our respects and remembering those who had touched our lives.

Homeward Bound with Hearts Full

After visiting the graves of our beloved departed, we embarked on our journey back home. It's a bittersweet moment, filled with emotions of love, remembrance, and the knowledge that the spirits of our loved ones are never truly gone.

All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day are more than mere rituals; they are a testament to the enduring bond we share with those who've passed. As we retraced our steps and the rain-scented air filled our lungs, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to remember, honor, and keep the memories of our loved ones alive.

Have a Blessed Thursday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖

Thank You Lord for the blessings and love!
Be grateful in every little/simple things and you’ll find happiness you ever wanted! 😀😀😀
Everyday is worth to be grateful of!

Praying for the safety and wellness of all.
Heal Our Land Oh God!
