The Curious Tale of Jane Austentatious - Literary #POBPUNK with Sass

This article is a cheeky little response and play on words to support @jaxsonmurph's unique #pobpunks contest to write about a #pobpunk that you would like to see issued in the set. My wax addy is sbse.wam

My choice is as follows:

Jane Austentatious was a bookworm and revered author from my neighbouring Shire, and the #pobpunk alter ego of one of our country's most beloved authors, Jane Austen.

@jaxsonmurph will hopefully consider replicating her 😜 as I would love to acquire her, being an aspiring author myself.

Always, with a pen and notebook in hand, she had every reason to have Pride in her accomplishments in the Literary Arts and with 6 major novels to her name, she also brought honour to the family name. Being a woman, she might have been concerned about Prejudice in the publishing world, but her books met anon with high acclaim. Today, 204 years on from her birth, she graces the face of the £10 GBP banknote.

Her father was a man of great Persuasion and secured her first publishing deal for her.

Sadly in her era, women were seen to be mothers and wives, without profession, housekeepers at best, and being a professional female writer/author was not something that was viewed well in society. Writing, after all, was a Man's field and not a walk in the Park.

She had a love for writing and dance from a very young age and had the Sense to stand out by pushing the envelope regularly with her "risque" approach and continued to challenge the landed gentry in her works. She did, however, maintain a modicum of Sensibility with her money, having her novels published on commission, and thereby retaining their copyright.

She was a woman of great character and substance, with a close circle of besties, amongst them, Emma, who arrived 4th in her life.

She has been described as:

a clear brunette with a rich colour; she had full round cheeks, with mouth and nose small and well formed, bright hazel eyes, and brown hair forming natural curls close round her face...she never was seen, either morning or evening, without a cap source

Jane died at the age of 41 and is buried not in Northanger Abbey as some unwittingly may have expected😜, but in Winchester Cathedral.

Very few images of Jane exist today and the ones that do are mainly drawings.
