Work life balance: My view πŸ§°βš–οΈπŸ”

Most times, it's very challenging and almost impossible to schedule a lone moment or resting period in between the hustle and bustle of life.

In Nigeria, it is more difficult to have a work-life balance due to the bad economy and superfluous demands from employees, among others. A typical Nigerian cannot currently boast of taking three meals a day. Yet, the same would most likely be true of a workaholic.

No matter the Nigerian situation, I don't play with my health. Because it's better to have some rest than to spend it unwillingly on my health. I don't mind checkups, but when I had to spend some exorbitant amounts on my health, I promised myself never to be in that position again.

Getting some rest is an intentional act that has to be observed. Most people work until their bodies reject working. I was once like that, but now I know better.

After visiting the hospital for some time and getting stripped of my hard-earned income for a while, all in the name of stress, I had to put some control over my working habits, and the rule is simple. I don't have to be tired before I get some rest. There were days I worked for 24 hours and probably got about 2 hours of rest in between.

Even if I am energetic the next day, I still find some time to make up for the resting periods I missed in the last 24 hours. All glory to God, since 2021, I have not been admitted to the hospital. That was the year I took a step to consciously make time to rest, even if I didn't feel tired.

It's possible to be efficient at work and also enjoy a good life if we can make time to rest even before the body requests it.
