Wednesday Walking After a Night of Severe Thunderstorms

An entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay.

As one can imagine, when you go from 30F last weekend to 85F in three days, there tends to be a lot of energy in the air. Lots of energy, and the past two nights have seen some extreme thunderstorms roll through the area. Sometimes it can be a bit scary, especially when you worry about a tornado touching down late at night, but most of the time, you can sleep through it. The best part about the morning after such storms, however, is heading into my beloved nearby marsh to see how the green and wildlife are responding to the fresh rain.

Before this picture was taken, I passed two familes of Canadian geese with their newborn babies As I pass both families, the males (I think the males), definitely let me know I was not welcome. They both spread their wings and started hissing at me while slowly walking toward me. Sadly, I didn't stop for pictures...

This area is rich with wildflowers and invasive plants; the only ones in bloom that I found this morning were the white flowers above. Hopefully now that the weather warms up, more will be around next time through.

Finally, one last family of geese in the way; rather than get charged at for a third time this morning, I took a detour around the family of geese. I know they are just geese, but I can't say I enjoy that hissing noise coming at me. Not a fan!

One final photo of the May sun and its reflection on the waters below.

The weather felt like mid-July; humid and hot. Still, it was worth it to get out and about and enjoy the scenes nearby. Thanks for checking out my #wednesdaywalk! I hope everyone has a good start to the Wednesday too!
