Beer Saturday : Toppling Goliath's Radiant Haze
My share for the #beersaturday group...as inspired by @detlev. And "Go Pack Go!"
What a Sunday! Having gotten rid of cable TV a few years ago, I was stuck in a dilemma today regarding the Green Bay Packers game. What to do...they needed to win today against the Chicago Bears to get into the playoffs, and I did not have a TV to watch. I could have gone to a bar, or to my parents (only to listen to my dad yell at the TV)...instead, I opted for grilling steaks and picking up a 6 pack of the Radiant Haza IPa to enjoy in the backyard. Yum!
Still no snow in Wisconsin, so I started a small bonfire in the backyard to create some warmth. I then pulled the old AM radio of the garage to get the Packers game on AM; how old school, but so fun!
The beer is a very good IPA. Lots of flavor and lots of IPA hazy goodness; the hop bill is on the can, and as you can imagine, it has all the hops I love...
Finally, the steaks...the steaks were from our local meat CSA, and I went with the lump charcoal/indirect method on the Weber. The whole family was a fan!
Long story short...the Packers won and are in the playoffs. The steaks turned out perfect. And I'm through 5/6 of the Radiants...so I'm going to give this beer a 4.25/5.00. What a Sunday!
Thankfully I have tomorrow off, and will be heading out to take photos of nearby Prairie Bluff I'll share photos of later this week. It's been a great start to the week and hopefully more fun to come. Thanks for checking out my #beersaturday post. I hope to share more consistently as the year progresses!
Sounds like a quality Sunday right there man, beer, steak and your team won, sweet!!
if they can pull off a big upset in Big D next weekend, my year in sports is made, lol
thanks @ewkaw !
Interesting beer, although I don't like canned beers 😉
I will say if I can find them super fresh in a can (especially IPAs), they are yummy...but yes, always better on tap!
