Stuckism at My House: Lena Ulanova Entrainment

Road sign for passersby. I love making these.

The Russian Stuckists turned me on to a whole new perspective on art and art practice. I had more shows featuring paintings by my new friends. In 2018 I had a Lena Ulanova (Olga Knaus) solo exhibition at my house. I really went all out with lots of promotion, good food and a three-piece jazz band in my living room. She had great sales, and I didn’t take a penny. It was (and is) a labor of love celebrating artists I like. You can follow Olga on Instagram. I am trying to get her to Ecency and the Hive-machine. It takes a while for these artsy folks to understand a blockchain. I still don’t, but I’d much rather be social here than at Facebook/Instagram where the creepy Zuckerberg and his minions doth dwell. It’s like pennies from heaven. They take our content over there and then marginalize us if we don’t PAY along.
Anyway, you can follow Olga at: olga_knausss if you like to see paintings. Fresh ones.
She posts every day. Very prolific.

Below is a video of the before and at the tail end of opening night. Place was packed mid-show. This is what Stuckism does. It leaves the paid-for gallery behind. It takes out the middleman, and frees the artist from the feelings of beggardom.

Love that music over the video! What is it?

Jazz band sounds fabulous. Was this in Oswego?

This must have been so much work for you. I've helped my artist friends hang their work at shows. Here, you had to take down your own stuff and hang a great many of hers! Very nice of you. I'm glad it was a success.

The recording I believe I downloaded from a copyright-expired music site.
Yes, this was in my house. The Frank Gordon Trio was the band. I do this frequently for other artists and myself. Taking the middle man out of art exhibiting as often as possible. I do the promotion, the flyers, postcards, and in this artist’s case, the NY City street hawking. I’m an advocate personality. Cant’t be helped:

I love this. Walking and riding the streets of NYC, takes me back. I had to leave because of the road rage I experienced regularly - I could not control it and chose to leave even though I was very happy and successful there otherwise. Camera man was fabulous, and editor - same guy? Great music again. You're really good I dig your posts in case you can't tell.

I did the editing.
Eric, my partner in crime, is always up for fun. He sculpts beautiful marble pieces.

Did you do musical theater? I saw that painting at your house. Did she sell that one?

I don’t know what musical theater is. But yes, the painting sold to Eric. I guess he spent enough time with it beforehand:) Thanks for asking!
