It is important to the Rise of the Pixels team to properly recognize and reward our early adopters. We talk a lot about ways to do this, and are excited to share a reward system that will soon be official.

So here is the short version: Every unopened pack on the Main Server will start to generate Studio Reputation every day. 📈

To be clear: this is on the Main Server—the place where it is currently impossible to open packs! So while things are in Beta, all those packs that are sitting there on the Main Server will be doing work for you, every hour. No action needed on your part!

(For those just tuning in: we have a Beta Server that duplicates your “real” packs, and you can practice opening them there without affecting the Main Server. The Beta Server gets reset occasionally as we test new things).

🤔 What good is Studio Reputation?

Okay, so you’re getting Rep every few hours—so what?

Studio Reputation is going to be an absolutely critical metric for the entire game. Feature unlocks and $PXL income from games are things that are tied to Reputation. As well as recruiter access, which will be the first major reward for early adopters.

We will soon have a new Recruiter that can guarantee legendary and epic drops when opening 100 or more packs. Here’s the catch: this advanced Recruiter can only be used by Players with a certain Rep level.

Early adopters who have purchased 100+ packs should find that they can access this fancy new Recruiter soon after the game officially leaves Beta. Folks with 200+ packs are pretty much guaranteed to have access from the start of launch!

💰 Exactly how much Rep do unopened packs generate?

The current proposed formula is tuned to guarantee a maximum studio reputation of 25 at launch to ensure game balance:

NEW_REP = OLD_REP + (((25 - OLD_REP) / 30000) * UNOPENED_PACKS * 5)

As a studio grows its Reputation, the formula above will automatically reduce the successive increments via this part: (25 - OLD_REP) / 30000.

At 25 Rep, the equation will be (25 - 25) / 30000 = 0, and Rep gains for unopened packs will cease. The number of unopened packs you have determines how fast you reach the cap of 25.

These figures may change as we fine tune the game economy, but no matter what, we will make it so that the advanced Recruiter’s Rep requirement allows our biggest early adopters to take advantage and secure legendary NFTs. 😎

🤩 The first of many Beta Tester rewards

We’re not stopping here. There will be a few more ways that we ensure early adopters get in-game advantages and bragging rights. Simple things like Discord titles are already under consideration, as well as some other neat ideas we are actively discussing. Stay tuned, and if you have an idea, we’re 100% open to suggestions. ❓ Some quick Q&A

Here are the answers to some questions we anticipate:

Will Rep rewards be retroactively rewarded?	No. The Rep drip will be turned on for everyone at the same time. If you’re reading this post close to when it was published, there’s still time to beef up your packs!
Do I need to stake my unopened packs?	Nope. No staking is involved. You do not have to do anything, just sit back and enjoy the rewards.
Do unopened Beta packs count?	No. The packs on the Beta Server have zero effect on anything in the real game—they are just test assets that even get reset from time to time. Do whatever you like with your Beta packs and Beta NFTs.
WEN	The Rep rewards will be turned on likely by the end of the year. We’re still working out some math and balance considerations. An announcement will be made in Discord, and we may also make a Hive post or X post about it too.
