Another week and another battle to share with the guys. The theme this time in Splinterlands Battlemage Secrets was about the Ferocity ruleset, in which all units go berserk.

Ferocity| The ruleset of the week is called Ferocity, I was lucky that my last battle that appeared in the history had this rule, if I had played one more match it would have disappeared. The effect of this rule is very simple to give all monsters the Fury ability.

The Fury skill is like a conditional buff, because it doubles the damage done to enemies that have the Taunt skill. Therefore, the tip right away is to avoid using tanks or monsters that have the Taunt ability, because they will probably be eliminated very quickly due to the 2x damage they will take. Furthermore, if there are no taunt monsters, the game remains normal and is more impacted by the other rules and mana cap.

Match Rules| What will define the course of this match is the manacap of 16 that limits the monsters used to low mana and also the ruleset that guarantees thorns for all units. This means that one of the 3 types of attacks is not used, which would be the melee attack, because it deals damage if it attacks with that type of damage.

As the ruleset makes the use of melee monsters unfeasible, you can expect it to be used by archers or wizards. So the tip is maybe to go with a brood to counter or focus on the offensive with General Sloan (archer) or obsidian (mage)

Ally | On my side, the choice of summoner was Thaddius Brood, a great counter against mages, which was one of the options, due to the -1 magic damage, which by the way worked very well in this match since the opponent chose to go with Obsidian. As tanks, both teams went for the amount of cards with low HP. This was beneficial to me, because the more units were defeated, the more HP the Riftwing gained to the point where it could tank a lot.

Enemy | On the opponent's side, nado was nerfed as it did not receive the +1 from Obsidian and most of the DPS were utilities such as the Hoarder who is a back-line healer and the queen Mycelia who provides shield. On my side, the DPS are more offensive with double Life Leech by Sapper and Venari, helping to gain HP in a low mana match. It's worth remembering that Bonesmith is poisoned, which in this match, due to the opponents having little HP, is almost like taking away the whole life.

👊 HOW WAS THE BATTLE? 👊

ROUND 0

Round of buffs and debuffs starts with Thaddius Brodd reducing the HP and magical damage of opponents, which soon return to normal due to the Obsidian Buff, which makes the attack remain the same. Queen mycelia applies shield to all the opponent's units, but this doesn't have much of an impact since my dps are mages.

Finally, as both were magic damage and there are no units with taunt, the rulesets didn't have much of an impact on the match other than reducing the choices at the beginning.

ROUND 1

The attacks from my DPS were enough to defeat enemy units that were tanks. The opponent also managed to eliminate two of my monsters, leaving the battle balanced, but the interesting point is that due to the skills, now my remaining 3 monsters had more HP, while his had a maximum of 3 HP.

ROUND 2 -> END

His last tank was defeated - Chaos Agent - now little by little his monsters will be defeated and as you can see he won't have enough damage to defeat my units, because in total he has 4 damage while my riftwing has 5 of HP that will increase by mycelia defeated and in the process my dps gained even more HP. In other words, the battle is already determined at this point and will continue like this until the end.

The strategy of waiting for the opponent to come with Mages or Archers proved to be true, which was the logic on account of Thorns. Thanks to both teams using low HP monsters as tanks instead of a single high HP unit, it greatly helped the RiftWing gain HP and become a perfect replacement tank.

The Brood's choice was perfect, but it's worth thinking that it was partly luck as the opponent could have chosen to perhaps come with General Sloan and focus on archery damage. However, it has the disadvantage of not attacking in the first position, so even in this situation the battle would be well balanced, which is why Thaddius Brood is such a strong and used summoner. A curious fact is that he has one of the highest win-rates among rare chaos summoners.

Ferocity| A ruleset da semana se chama Ferocity, tive a sorte que a minha útlima batalha que aparecia no histórico tinha essa regra, se eu tivesse jogado mais uma partidade teria sumido. O efeito dessa regra é bem simples dar à todos os monstros a habilidade Fury.

A habilidade Fury é como se fosse um buff condicional, porque ela dobra o dano causado à inimigos que tenha a habilidade Taunt. Com isso, a dica de cara é evitar usar tanks ou monstros que tenha a habilidade de Taunt, porque eles provavelmente vão ser eliminados bem rápido por conta do 2x de dano que vão levar. No mais, se não houverem monstros de taunt, a partidade segue normal sendo mais impactada pelas outras regras e mana cap.

Match Rules| O que vai definir o rumo dessa partida é a manacap de 16 que limita os monstros usados a low mana e também a ruleset que garante thorns para todas as unidade. Isso faz com que um dos 3 tipos de ataque não seja usado, que seria o ataque melee, porque causa dano se atacar com esse tipo de dano.

Como a ruleset inviabiliza o uso de monstros melees você já pode esperar que seja usado ou arqueiros ou magos. Então a dica é talvez ir com um brood para counterar ou focar na ofensiva com General Sloan (archer) ou obsidian (mage)

Aliado | Do meu lado a escolha de summoner foi o Thaddius Brood, um ótimo counter contra magos, que era uma das opções, por conta do -1 de dano mágico, que por sinal funcionou muito bem nessa partida já que o oponente escolher ir de Obsidian. Como tanks, ambos os times foram pela quantidade de cartas com low HP. Isso foi benéfico para mim, porque quanto mais unidades eram derrotadas mais HP o Riftwing ganhava ao ponto de poder tankar bastante.

Inimigo | Do lado oponente o nado foi nerfado já que não recebeu o +1 da Obsidian e em grande parte os DPS eram utilitários como o Hoarder que é back-line healer e a queen Mycelia que fornece shield. Já do meu lado os DPS são mais ofensivos com double Life Leech pelo Sapper e o Venari, ajudando a ganhar HP numa partida de low mana.Vale lembrar que o Bonesmith tem poison que nessa partida pelos oponentes terem pouco HP é quase como se tirasse a vida inteira.

👊 COMO FOI A BATALHA? 👊

Round dos buff e debuf inicia com o Thaddius Brodd reduzindo o HP e o dano mágico dos oponentes, que logo voltam ao normal por conta do Buff da Obsidian, que faz com que o ataque permanessa igual. A queen mycelia aplica shield em todos as unidades do oponente, mas isso não faz grande impacto já que os meus dps são magos.

Por fim, como ambos foram de dano mágico e não tem unidades com taunt as rulesets não tiveram grande impacto na partida além de reduzir as escolhas no início.

ROUND 1

Os ataques dos meus DPS foram suficientes para derrotas as unidades inimigas que estão como tanks. O oponente também conseguiu eliminar dois monstros meus, deixando a batalha equilibrada, mas o ponto interessante é que por conta das habilidades, agora os meus 3 monstros restantes estavam com mais HP, enquanto os dele tinha no máximo 3 de HP.

ROUND 2 -> END

O último tank dele foi derrotado - Chaos Agent - agora aos poucos os monstros dele serão derrotados e como pode observar ele não vai ter dano suficiente para derrotar as minha unidades, porque no total possui 4 de dano enquatno o meu riftwing tem 5 de HP que vai aumentar quanto a mycelia foi derrotada e nesse processo meus dps ganharam ainda mais HP. Ou seja, a batalha já está determinada nesse ponto e vai continuar assim até o fim.

🤔 CONCLUSÃO 🤔

A estratégia de esperar que o oponente viesse com Magos ou Arqueiros se provou verdadeira, que era a lógica por conta do Thorns. Graças à ambos os times terem usado monstros com hp baixo como tank ao invés de uma única unidade com alto HP, ajudou batante o RiftWing a ganhar HP e se tornar um tank substituto perfeito.

A escolha do Brood foi perfeita, mas é válido pensar que foi em partes sorte já que o oponente poderia ter escolhido vir talvez com o general sloan e focar em dano de arqueria. Entretanto tem a desvantagem de não atacar na primeira posição, então mesmo nessa situação a batalha seria bem equilibrada, por isso o Thaddius Brood é um summoner tão forte e usado. Uma curiosidade é que ele possui uma das maiores win-ratedentre os summoners rare do chaos.
