Ruleset | This week's Battle Mage Secrets rule is Little League, in which only monsters and summoners with mana 4 or less can be used to assemble teams. It's interesting to notice how the names of the rules already convey the idea of its definition, when you listen to Little League you already have the idea that only "small" monsters can be used, which in this case is because their mana is limited to 4.

As monsters with mana 4 or less have little damage in general, it's a good idea to choose some tanks with a lot of HP like the Xenith Monk or Hill Giant, which even with little mana have high HP. Still, in this scenario monsters with 2 damage are very good, because you will rarely see one with 3, so this will be the best attack available. Another tip is to use summoners that can buff your monsters, because it will increase all the attributes of the monsters that are already low due to the limited mana.

Match Rules | In the battle we had a very high manacap of 40, but that won't be used to the fullest because Little League limited monsters to 4 mana. In addition to the rule of the week, we had the Armored UP rule, which gives +2 Shield to monsters and Equal Opportunity which makes monsters attack the monster with the lowest HP.

Because there is a rule that gives Opportunity to monsters, it is a good idea to try to use skills that guarantee defenses for the team, so that they can withstand attacks.

Ally | Both teams chose the strategy of using mages with Obisian's +1 damage buff, in addition, to protect the monsters both teams went with Queen Mycelia who gives +2 Shield. Still, Djinn Biljka is a great choice because his Camouflage ability means he isn't targeted by Opportunity. Furthermore, we have the presence of Venari Marksrat who will be focused and will guarantee a buff to two adjacent monsters.

Enemy | On the opposing side, we can see that he also focused on wizard monsters to gain the Obsidian buff, but the difference was the choice of monsters from other editions such as Wood Nymph, which is a very good low-mana healer.

👊 HOW WAS THE BATTLE? 👊

ROUND 1

In the Round, we start with the famous buff and debuff on both sides. It starts with the two Obisians giving +1 magic damage and the two Queen Mycelia giving +2 Armor to allies. On my side, I had the buff from Ujurak Mystic's Lookout that causes units adjacent to him to receive -1 damage from monsters with Opportunity, something very useful in this match, which made him withstand a lot of attacks.

The first monster defeated was enemy Venari Marksrat, which gave +1 status to adjacent allies, mine ended up surviving the first round due to Lookout which gave it time to be healed by Triage. After Marksrat the enemy Queen mycelia was defeated, removing one of the enemy heals.

ROUND 2

In round two it was my Venari's turn to be defeated and grant the buff to his allies. On the opposing side, the loser was Wood Nymph, guaranteeing a great advantage to my team, because there were no more enemy heals, taking away the tank that would not be focused on in this match due to having Opportunity.

ROUND 3

Finally, in round 3 only the enemy Djinn was left, because the Xenith and the DPS were eliminated, due to the high DPS of two of my monsters. Thus, the match comes to an end.

🤔 CONCLUSION 🤔

An opponent's positioning error was to place Djinn Bilkja in second position, because he had less HP than the other monsters and he would be one of the biggest DPS that would not be focused by Opportunity. The correct choice IMO would be to place it in the last position, guaranteeing a constant damage of 3 with the Obisidian buff.

A big difference between the teams, in my opinion, was in the tanks. The Xenith Monk at Level 2 has Heal, which makes a big difference in any tank, as it heals the HP by 1/3 of the unit's life, making it survive longer, which is the tank's job. With that, I'm already looking to upgrade my xenith to at least Level 2, or if I find it at a cheap price, maybe I'll get a Gold Foil to receive the GF Bonus.

This is an interesting tip in itself for any Splinterlands player. It's very interesting, trying to exchange common cards that you use a lot for their gold foil versions, because in the long run, they end up paying for themselves and generating more SPS per game.
