Harrowing of my Ridges and installation of drip irrigation. | My Maize Gardening Challenge (#mc2022)

Hello Hivers ✌✌.
Welcome to my blog..!!

So, today on my maize challenge, I did the next activity in the pre-planting operations which is the breaking down of the soil from bigger clumps to finner particles, this will help the root of the maize plant penetrate the soil well and absorb more nutrients...

In agriculture there is an harrowing equipment which is being mounted on a tractor to loosen the soil, but for my case I used a flat wood to break the bigger clumps of the soil and flatten the ridge. This will help give more surface area for planting and will help the root of the plant penetrate the soil well.

After, that operation, I installed the drip irrigation system. This is important,

  • yeah the rains are here, no need for an irrigation you may ask.*

Yes it's true the rains are here but still we can't control the rains.
Normally, the maize plants will take up nutrient in a liquid form, which means anytime we don't have a rainfall, the plants do not effectively take up nutrients as it should which might hinder it's growth and development in the long run.

Another thing is, the irrigation can also be used to apply liquid feetilizer to the maize plant this is called "Fertigation".

I intend to use my Rabbit urine I have been collecting d as fertilizer for the maize plant.

Rabbit urine is a great source of liquid fertilizer which is rich in essential nutrients needed by the maize plants..

Yeah..
Rabbit urine can be used as liquid fertilizers for vegetables, but you have to be careful in the dilution rate cause it could born the plant..
Didn't know people buy this rabbit urine, would love to know who buys because I store them up a lot..
