What to do with my BEE tokens...?
BEE is the 'native' token of the Hive-Engine ecosystem...
You can buy it for Hive on the Hive-Engine market or swap it for a range of other tokens as there are several pools linked with it.
The main use case for BEE is that you need it if you want to mint a new token on Hive-Engine, which you can do via the TribalDex interface - it cost 100 BEE to mint a new token, and I think it might cost more the more functionality you want with the token.
A second use case I'd been taken advantage of for months was the BEE-HBD pool which until recently was turning out quite a nice return - a solid 40% or so paid out in mainly BEE which I'd been selling around 30% of and then re-pooling with more HBDs.
However, I noticed that the rewards on this pool stopped quite recently so I promptly unpooled and just held my BEE for a while pending further research (the HBDs I swapped 50% for BUSD and pooled with that for now).
So is it worth holding onto the BEE I've got....?
Current BEE options...
You can stake your BEE for a small return. I staked 100 as a test - NB you have to go via your wallet on TribalDex to do this (I don't think the functionality exists on any of the other other HE frontends) -
After 1 day I got a 0.068 return on 100 BEE...
That's around a 25% annual return, not too bad these days....
Then there's the new HIQ-BEE pool....
HIQS is a share token for the HIQ magazine and the pool with BEE offers a 54% return ATW, which is NICE - better than the BEE-HIQS.
I actually bought some HIQs to keep some of my BEE in this pool, worth a punt...
So there are TWO decent options available.
Risks of holding BEE (compared to just Hive...)
However I also see two risks with holding BEE - the first is that the price of BEE is trending down compared to Hive...
And the second is that I don't think 100 BEE is that much of a cost to push out a new token, maybe not enough of a soak going forwards... it feels like there is a lot of BEE compared to probable demand going forwards...
BEE - final thoughts...
Sorry Hive-Engine but for me it's a good time to sell a chunk and reduce my BEE holdings. I'll hold onto a couple of hundred, 100 staked and then 100 pooled as maybe I'll want to set up my own token in the future, but for now it's just a simple sell most of them for Hive!
Dump it 😄😂
Well I have TBH other than holding onto enough for creating one token!

what kind of token you plan to release?
I picked up some BEE a while ago. I needed it to vote on something, but I honestly don't remember what that was now. I've never heard of HIQ, so I doubt I would take the risk of buying some just to pool my BEE. I hope it works out for you though!

Had to buy some a few weeks ago for token creation / tribe outpost set up, got a few more changes to make so will eventually need to grab some more. If you need to dump feel free, help a sloth out lol
Happy to help, I can't see a real use case for me personally!

I just hold the Workerbee token at the moment. But the BEE seems to be holding its current value. Lets see.
I don't know - like most HE tokens it's drifting down against Hive!

I have tiny amounts of BEE and WORKERBEE that I accumulated. Not enough to earn much from and I wasn't sure what I could do with them.
I got a few BEE. I always thought it best to hold them just in case one day I decide to create a token.

I use it for curating.
pro tip: you can stake bee and vote with it on all posts tagged #hive-engine.
Ah OK that's good to know! Can I delegate it too?
