The Fee-Free Way to Convert Hive to Swap.Hive....

I've had a little hive-delegation going to @leovoter for well over a year now, and that pays me out in LEO, I think at around 16% APR...

I've been using that LEO recently to buy swap.hive to pool with DEC given that my liquid SPS has been spent on nodes (which I was previously using to match the DEC.

I usually swap the LEO for SWAP.HIVE which incurs the same fee I think as using @gerber's excellent conversion service, but it struck me that I could just use the regular market and put in bid orders for Swap.Hive which i think is fee-free.

Of course you're subject to market variations, but they are just as likely to work in your favour as not if you're patient.

And you earn a decent APY in the process.

So if you regularly convert swap.hive from Hive you might want to give this route a go instead.

Not that the 0.25% fee is that bad for conversion, but you know, if your moving around 100s or 1000s of Hive to Swap.Hive every year that's 25 Hive down the drain per 1000, and this could save you some of that!

Hi @revise.leo
So you are buying swap.hive on Hive-engine with your LEo?
Smart. Its a small fee to change Hive to swap.hive, but during a bear market those Hive add up to lots of the Hive-engine tokens, and if your buying something really cheal=p, hundreds.
By the way did you buy that third SPS node?
Do you have to set up an actual computer to run the node or is it virtual?
What is the projected APR of the Node?
Thanks!

I have been buying to pool with DEC but now I'm selling DEC there's no need anymore, so it's back to powering up the LEO or trading it for something else!

I did get that node - the team say they are going to start SPS rewards in August and you get VOUCHER now - even with the VOUCHER it's around an 80% APR already, when the SPS starts it's quite a lot better - check out @nealmcspaddens' vids on it.

You reminded me of my DEC and steem/Hive fork.
At fork, I converted swap.steem to DEC then DEC to game, but I never converted it to swap.hive, kept the DEC but I saved the fees , that I guess used to 1% at that time.

if you regularly convert swap.hive from Hive you might want to give this route a go instead.

I guess you meant opposite.

Fess are annoying it's good to engineer ways around them for sure!

  • It's 'from' not 'to' so I think it's the right way around?!?

I think it's "@leo.voter" with a period in-between? Correct me if I'm wrong...
