Weekend Engagement - Gonna Read This One Year Later!

I have always seen people write letters to their future self but this is actually the first time that I am attempting this. I spent some time thinking on the timeframe and the tone that I wanted to approach this letter. Being someone who always thinks that the future is unpredictable, I decided to go with a letter for my future self just one year later (e.g. Dec 2023). So here goes!

Hello there!

You survived another year!

I hope you are healthy and physically well. Health has become an important asset as we grow older, and I hope you have been eating healthily and have been exercising! If not, there's always 2024 to make up for it! Hehe!

I hope you have built closer relationships with people who matter. From family and loved ones to friends, I hope you have continued to spend quality time with them, be it from important occasions such as birthdays to just day-to-day interactions over Whatsapp. These are the important people in your life and you should always cherish them.

I hope you have made another small step towards financial freedom. Remember we had mapped out our financial targets and retirement plans? Hopefully we have made some progress on that front. Keep investing for the long term and ignore the market fluctuations. On a side note, hmm, I wonder what the price of Bitcoin is. But hopefully inflation and interest rates would have come down a little by now.

I hope you have gotten to travel a lot more in the past year! Covid has put on hold our travel plans for one year or two, and personal circumstances have prevented me from travelling this year too. So if everything goes smoothly, we should be able to explore the world in 2023 and more frequently going forward!

Finally, I hope you are still writing your posts on Hive! Hive has been a magical place for me to share stories and views with so many like-minded people. Sometimes, the prompts and contests are challenging, but I think it's a great habit to continually practise our writing skills and exercise our creativity! After all, we have the freedom to express our ideas.

Continue to stay happy and positive in life! You are doing well so believe in yourself more! :)
