Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Every Card Counts, Every Battle Counts

Time flies! Just completed the 78th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 3rd!

So for the final result, we were 3rd out of 10 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 9 SPS! Back to podium but 8 out of 13 losses came from a player who didn't submit the battles so it was very demoralising. We actually only lost 5 real battles. 2nd was easily within reach.

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and I won 4 of them this time! Finished 3rd within the guild.

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie

If you have been following my battle posts, you would know I am fond of Life Magic lineups, with the use of Aves Sturgis and his Weapons Training ability. My opponent didn't put out a strong lineup so this was an easy win for me.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Edith Emberstar

An interesting ruleset combination and unfortunately, my Martyr strategy didn't materialise because my team was too strong and my opponent didn't even have a chance to take down Venari Marksrat. MVP went to Drybond Raider who was relentless with his 4 hits per round. Still having a good win record with Water lineups.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Katrelba Gobson

When you face Katrelba Gobson and have a vulnerable backline, you know you are in deep trouble. This was what happened to my opponent and Katrelba Gobson had an awesome time clearing the team starting from the back.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver

This was not an easy battle and the opposing tank was really tough to handle. Fortunately, I had Wave Brood whose Taunt came in extremely handy in this battle. This allowed the rest of the cards to stay alive and keep up with the damage output, which eventually resulted in a good win. Indeed, every card counts.

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Katrelba Gobson

On hindsight, it was an awful selection for this battle and I could have done a lot better. I was too focused on leveraging on Katrelba Gobson and didn't realise it wouldn't be strong against a Magic lineup.

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! 80% win rate, good effort for me, and taking nothing for granted of course.

Review Of Gladius Cards

Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. Congratulations to Captain Katie for winning one of the battles! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!

ELEMENT: LIFE
RARITY: RARE
ABILITY: SNIPE, BLOODLUST

This is definitely way long overdue, but it's weird that it took me so long receive and feature a Rare card. Anyway, Captain Katie has won a couple of battles and she comes with a useful Snipe ability. Unfortunately, I use a lot of Sola Ranjell for Life Magic lineups so she hardly gets to feature. Nonetheless, her stats are pretty good I must say and with 6 HP, she definitely is able to secure some Bloodlusts on her own. Feels like an Epic card to me haha.
