NO SOCIAL MEDIA, NO BILLING & MORE PEACE…

If I was asked this particular question about 5 years ago, then my answer would have been something like; I can’t do without social media, my life would be boring without social media or I can’t stay away from social media, and this is because back then I haven’t really gotten to explore the internet world yet, which means I never knew there was another life outside these social media platforms, and most importantly social media platforms were in vogue those years, back then if you aren’t on Facebook or 2go then you are living in the past, this was how the world was viewed about a decade ago, but now everything and everyone has changed…

I have evolved, you have evolved, we all have evolved, which means if you are to ask me how my life would be without social media now, my answer will be very simple and straightforward, I won’t be too affected by the lack of social media, and this is because I have gotten to the stage where I think social media is just a waste of time and effort when it doesn’t generate income, we are growing everyday and the more we grow, the more our wants and needs increases, so why would I want to waste my time on an app that doesn’t pay my bills when I can be out there looking for a good job that is going to foot my bills…

Ever since I joined hive, a lot of things have changed about me, even with the fact that there are times where all these social media platforms come in handy, I don’t think I will be too affected if it doesn’t exist anymore , ever since I graduated high school and got employed into the world of hustling and bustling, a lot of things has changed about me, the number of hours I spend doing some things has been reduced, right now I only spend much time on something that will foot my bills or open up a path to something that will bless my pocket, if not that then I don’t think I can spend much time on it…

I remember when I was still in high school, back then I was still getting feeding allowance from my parents, I had nothing to think about apart from looking fresh and good, back then I would spend almost 12 hours on Facebook chatting with my friends and crushes, sometimes I even chat over night thanks to etisalat free Facebook plan back then, I know most of us used it 😂, I had nothing to think about then, but the moment I graduated from high school, I started wanting more things, my needs kept on increasing, I had no other choice than to reduce the hours I spend on these social media platforms if I want to earn money for my upkeep…

This was how my addiction towards social media started reducing bit by bit until I started doing without it for a couple of days and till now it has not changed…

The current me doesn’t use facebook anymore, even with the fact that I have a Facebook account, I now see it as a app for kids, the me right now doesn’t really spend much time on WhatsApp again because it always ends up with billing at the end of the day, tiktok is the advanced definition of data waste, and I don’t think I have much data to waste on it. The only app I use from time to time is INSTAGRAM, YouTube and X, and that is because it is more advanced than any other social media platforms…

This doesn’t mean that I can’t do without them oh, I can do without them very very well, and this is because I prefer spending my time watching movies, especially my favorite kdramas, bollywood movies and romantic nollywood movies, if I have all these at my disposal, then I don’t need social media, I still prefer text messages and phone calls to chatting for hours…

In summary, this is to tell you that I will be very fine and okay if social media doesn’t exit, as long as I have my kdramas, bollywood movies, hollywood movies and nollywood movies at my beck and call, I will be very good and happy, after all I don’t spend up to 4 hours daily on social media, so I can do without it and my daily life won’t be really affected…

The non existence of social media won’t really have a major effect on my life because I am kinda used to not using it for days, so not having access to it anymore means more break and more time for movies and blogging…

Living without social media will change my life for the better to an extent, I mean all this constant billing will reduce gradually, I will have more time to focus on work because most time social media is a big distraction to we youths, we don’t focus when we are on it, which is why I think my life will be better without it…

In summary, I use X and instagram more often than any other social media apps, so without these two, things will be quite hard for a bit, but with time I will get used to it and move on from the pain of not having it around anymore…

In conclusion, We will learn to adapt when there is no social media, if our forefathers were able to communicate and live a peaceful life without social media, then I believe we can also survive without it. There will be less distraction when there is no social media, but at the same time, life will be a bit hard for those that are earning from it, but for me, I don’t think I will much affected because I prefer hive and movies to all these social media platforms(web2), fact🫡…
