My Unexpected Night at Echo Village

I was on my way to Sanak Retreat Hotel in Munduk Village to pick up some clients the next morning. To make things easier, I needed a place to stay for the night. Initially, I had booked a room at a nearby small hotel, but upon calling the Sanak Retreat staff, I learned that the room could only accommodate one person. This was a problem since I was traveling with a friend, who is also a driver.

With limited time and no other options available, I had to cancel my booking and find an alternative quickly. My friend then suggested a place called Echo Village. It wasn’t our first choice, but it was the only option available at that moment.

We arrived at Echo Village late in the evening, with darkness settling in around us. The atmosphere was quiet, and there wasn't much activity at that hour. I rented a room, relieved to find that there were still two rooms available. One was already taken, but we managed to secure the other for the night.

The accommodation was basic but sufficient for our needs. There were no events or surprises during the night—just a place to rest after a long day of travel. In the morning, I reflected on my stay. While Echo Village might not be a place I would highly recommend, it works for budget travelers who need a place to sleep. Thinking about my experience, if I find myself in a similar situation again, I will first ask the staff if there's an available room at Echo Village. If there is, I would happily use this homestay.
