Discovering the Beauty of Jatiluwih Rice Terraces

Nestled in Bali lies a special place called Jatiluwih Village, home to the beautiful Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. These large rice fields create a stunning view, with golden plants ready for harvest.

When I arrived with my clients, we saw local farmers working hard in the fields, cutting the ripe rice with knives. As we walked, I told my clients that it takes about three months for rice to grow from planting to harvest. They were excited to see the harvest happening.

I talked with one of the farmers who showed us how they cut the rice plants and gather them into bundles. The fields were huge, and we were amazed at the farmers' hard work. Some rice needed to be harvested quickly because heavy rain had knocked the plants down. Luckily, it was already harvest time, so the rice could be collected before it spoiled.

We stopped at a vendor selling different types of rice – black, brown, and white. I showed my clients the varieties of rice. They held the rice samples, not planning to buy any, but were curious. When I introduced them to local snacks made from rice flour, peanuts, sweet potatoes, and soybeans, they loved them.

As we continued our walk, we tried more snacks from other vendors. The tasty treats made from local ingredients were a real delight!
