Breakfast with A View at Lakeview Restaurant, Kintamani

This morning, I found myself at Lakeview Restaurant, overlooking the breathtaking Mount Batur and Lake Batur. Even though I've seen this view many times, it never fails to amaze me. I started my day with a not-so-complicated-breakfast: fried rice, an omelette, and fried chicken glazed with sweet soy sauce and sesame seeds.

The restaurant has a lovely buffet setup, and the staff were very friendly, guiding me to serve myself. I decided to skip dessert, thinking my breakfast was already big enough. Besides, I wanted to enjoy my meal without feeling too full.

Lakeview Restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor area is surrounded by glass windows, providing a clear view of the stunning landscape. However, I preferred to sit outside at a long table overlooking the scenery.

As I sat outside, I thought about bringing my family here. The view is so incredible, and even though it’s a long drive from West Bali, it's worth it. But my wife prefers visiting places closer to home, avoiding the four to five-hour drive.

I was at the restaurant for work, waiting for my clients who were climbing Mount Batur. They began their trek at three in the morning and planned to finish around eight or ten. Some of them might stay longer to enjoy the hot springs as they descend back to the bottom.

While waiting, I explored the restaurant a bit more. It's not just a place to eat; it's also a hotel. The restaurant is perched on the edge of a cliff, part of a large crater with Mount Batur sitting inside. This volcano formed hundreds of thousands of years ago within the larger crater.

Walking around the lobby area, which is located below the restaurant, I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The morning air was crisp and refreshing, a pleasant change from the usual twenty-nine to thirty degrees Celsius typical in Bali.

Overall, my breakfast at Lakeview Restaurant was a delightful experience, blending work with a moment of tranquility.
