POB Update: New Tribe 2.0 Site = DAO & NFTs and Beneficiary Increase for Outside Apps
Tribe 2.0 Outpost
We have decided to upgrade to the Tribe 2.0 Outpost from Hive-Engine over the next few weeks. This will give us many of the upgrades that the community has been requesting, including: a new look, a proposal system, and pools with LP incentives!
Decentralized Token Fund (DTF)
One of the cool new features on the 2.0 site is the DTF for funding proposals. This form of funding development for POB essentially creates a DAO that will drive POB into the future!
When setting up the DTF, it creates a new additional reward pool to fund proposals that are accepted. To avoid changing our inflation schedule, We need to lower the existing reward pool by the same amount that we want to put into the DTF. 10% would be 720 POB per day for the DTF fund.
Before setting up the DTF fund, I would like to ask the community what is wanted. How much of the current reward pool (7200 POB daily) should we use to create the DTF fund? I have suggested 10%, but at the current prices that is only about $72 per day. However at previous prices that would have been as high as $720 per day. What percentage would make the most sense?
NFTs
The new site will also include NFTs complete with a creation mechanism and a market priced in POB! An example of the new format can be seen at https://www.palnet.io/. Once we have our Outpost in place, we will start a contest to incentivize artists to start POB NFTs off with a bang!
Beneficiary Increase for Non-native Posts
There has been a trend of more and more posts coming from other apps. In an effort to incentivize more users to use proofofbrain.io to make posts, we are increasing the beneficiary from 10% to 20% for posts made on other apps. The beneficiary will remain 10% for posts made on proofofbrain.io.

Why not just use the beneficiary pool for DTF? 20% is a huge cut and I don't think it's going to make more people go and post on POB to be honest.
There are BEE costs to upgrade to the Outpost site. So far, I've funded the creation of the tribe 1.0 and now another 2500 BEE to upgrade to the 2.0 site. There will still be costs of 1000 BEE to start the DTF and 1000 BEE for each pool that is started, plus funding LP incentives. The DTF is not meant to replace the beneficiary, but be a more decentralized mechanism for funding POB development.
An important suggestion sir, Please Add 50% rewards Auto Staking Feature In New Front End. As on Hive and many other tribes, 50 % rewards are automatically staked and rest 50% is available in liquid tokens. It's actually not what most likely expect. Even a 20% POB beneficiary is less than the 10% by posting on proofofbrain.io as that takes 10% of ALL tokens, not just POB, where as not posting on the site only takes 20% of the POB tokens only.
So in the end, if you use the front end you are giving up 10% of all tokens earned, including Hive. In most cases this is far more.
This is what I was curious about. You answered my question. If there was a way to only grab the 10% on POB's frontend, I'd be ok with the 10% and 20% off. I was a little shocked to see my last post show proofofbrainio as a 10% beneficiary. I had to search to find why this was the case as I couldn't change it. I haven't decided if I should post elsewhere and use the tag or post where I have been...maybe I'll just start posting on Stem :p

Well what is the best way for individuals entering this space to learn about various front ends in more details? Also by using proofofbrain's front end does it detail where all the 10% is going? Because if it is a DAO I wonder does all of it going into that pool if directed right can end up netting us more overall?
Hopefully this makes it to you as this post was discovered rather late by me and I'm not going to tag as I'm sure you are a busy individual... Or maybe someone who reads this can better answer this as it would help me and possibly help others trying to navigate this space and how we invest and move forward?

There really isn't a good way, you need to ask around or check out their introduction posts.
It may be going to the DAO, but that gets inflated eventually and ultimately put on market, and if it is like most DAO, largely pointless proposals. One tribe had a proposal to make a 3D image and if paid out would make him large stake holder for something that likely would never get used for anything. I'm highly skeptical of such things.
Thank you so much for such an insightful post. Dang I wish I discovered you a bit earlier I definitely would have aped into hivepunks purely out the clarity of your answers. The rep helps, but I've learned getting zeroed out in this space only takes 1 wrong encounter which could negate dozens of positive ones.
So in your opinion what do you feel is the best front end to post on? When I was first introduced to hive blogging I was told by someone to just use peakd to make the post and ecency to engage, but since then haven't really thought much of anything. It is now coming up on only 1 month for me and it has been an INSANE one month of endless deep dives lol.
Man but just seeing something like a rising star application if people began with the end at mind everyone would not only make more but awareness on hive can greatly increase. Due to this decentralization processes and dao's if it was formulated in a way that by owning starbits/pros we could delegate them into individual artists in order for them to faststart their music careers and promos in return that artist is sort of working for the dao in a sense and could get paid out.
I'm not too big on the technical aspect of all of this just yet, but I feel like this type of infrastructure just needs more mainstream exposure and it or whichever ecosystem can pull this off has a chance of being a decentralized facebook 2.0. I've already come to notice that a lot of projects here are focused on their individual goals which isn't bad and some mild partnerships, but man the opportunities in this space are so vast it is unreal.
I am a huge fan of PeakD. Nothing comes close.

Well i think there should be a kind of plan created for native writers to earn more with their contents than non-native writers who just use the "proofofbrain" tag...this will encourage more people to use the proofofbrain front-end since they know that they will stand a higher chance to earn more upvotes....

Totally agree @scholaris.pob, it makes perfect sense to follow the standard hive beneficiary system and will be a positive move and step forward for the community.
I Love the NFT creation in a #pob market place inclusion, I have been thinking about the best way to monetise NFTs for #pob giveaways, this will solve that issue as I have a number of NFT projects I am currently juggling.
The regular recommendations for a POB use case involving NFTs seemed like a match made in heaven when POB first brought up this initiative.
Yeah it could be a huge step forward and bring in more users that enjoy NFTs, the option to create and sell NFTs on a POB market would be something I would like to see, I am curios though would it include the option to auction NFTs

I have already started a power down of hive. I am going to leave enough for transactions and the rest will trade into pob and power up that. I wont invest more apart from what I earn from curation and posts.

This is a welcome development, I see we're already looking for a use case for the Pob, being able to sell NFTs in exchange for Pob is a nice idea. Atleast it'll reach out to people who love NFTs to check out the Pob Community.
I don't really understand much about this and I think everyone is just letting it pass..this was a suggestion ending with a question, I think people who are more knowledgeable to profer a better suggestion or show agreement. We need to start airing out views and contributing more to the growth of this Community.

Great question! I have just asked @aggroed and he said, there is an auction contract they use on NFT showroom. Maybe it will be integrated into outposts by the time we upgrade, but it doesn't seem to have been integrated into outposts yet.
I can't say I know a complete and full knowledge about this, but I believe this development is for the betterment and improvement of #POB and it would be nice and ecstatic to see the fulfillment of this development.

Please forgive my ingnorance...isn't an NFT just a jpeg or png file? or do they have to be converted to an nft type file...I could google the answer, but I figured I'd ask you directly because you made me think of it... :)

I think 10% is about as much as it should go. $72/day will add up. Plus, with DAO talk etc... $72 will likely turn back into $720 before too long.
It seems that this update will give a lot of new options for the front-end which is really cool.
At the moment I still use Peakd a lot because of the notifier, templates and scheduled posts.

It is also worth noting that there are 18000 POB's in the development fund that can be used before worrying about taking from inflation. I get it that $1800 won't go too far, but that is there as well.
I'm looking forward to the outpost front end and the NFTs. It looks like the outpost will cost $1500 to set up and then after that I don't see any additional costs.

Proof of Brain moderators do not possess the ability to mute anything on the Proof of Brain Community. The authority to mute anything in POB rests solely with the tribe owner. Aside from contacting your fine group, is there anything else we can do to correct the statement?
Community has only @proofofbrainio as admin and moderator, who muted the content, right? So statement is accurate unless we are missing something, please elaborate if so.

THIS! is what it's all about 🙂I suspected as much that a lot was going on behind the scenes keeping our leader busy. Really good to see your presence in the community and feel it @proofofbrainio. Like many others, I don't really know much about the percentages that are either viable or equitable for POB native or non-native posts, so I'll wait to see what other longer-term community members have to say or others with more experience in this area. I wasn't aware of the difference existing between a % of POB or a % of ALL tokens for the beneficiary as raised by @themarkymark either. So thank you for raising this point 🙏It would be useful to understand whether the incentive to post in the POB front end is actually there or not. I do hope so as with the advent of 2.0 I think we could have an outstanding future and there should be more encouragement to post in the front end, but if members are under the impression that they are gaining financial advantage or rather not incurring penalties by posting in the front end when they are not (or are ... depending on which way you look at it), that needs to be made transparent. I guess though that it all depends on time and perspective and the value of the individual tokens in play eg: maybe at the moment posting outside of the front end may impact you positively from a net financial position, but if we can grow the value of POB through 2.0 and beyond then perhaps losing 10% of all low-value tokens as opposed to 20% of a high-value POB will be the choice being made as the wheel turns and the scales counter in the opposite direction. I do love the community and find it very supportive and engaging and allows people to come to the table with points of contention, clarification etc without fear of retribution. Huge respect to all of you working on this and contributing through the comments as it is only through this level of engagement that we can all truly benefit Proof of Brain and benefit from Proof of Brain. I am certainly looking forward to a more stable front end so I'm excited about the developments overall.
