A Good Way to Start a Weekend
Walking is the only exercise I will never abandon. I mean, it doesn't require much, just a few steps and you get all the energy you need to stay active throughout the day, in my case, throughout the weekend.
I haven't seen the environment outside my home leisurely for about a week now, I have only stepped out for church activities as we are in the holy week (Easter week).
So today being Saturday, I went out to get some fresh air by walking around my house (not too far, just outside my gate), and at the same time ruminating on what my friend told me about Catholics exaggerating the death and resurrection of Jesus. It was funny the way she said it so I kept laughing and wondering what she meant by that. I didn't want to believe her but at the same I kept thinking about it.
Yesterday was Good Friday and we had acted the passion of Jesus, and many of us wept in the process. Were we exaggerating things? Like I said I don't want to think much about it:)
I was still reflecting on Easter and its meaning to us Christians when this guy from my neighborhood said hello to me and asked when I returned home. It's been three weeks since I returned and we are just seeing for the first time. Like I said I rarely leave my home, not even for errands, boys do the errands while girls do the chores at home, it's been like this before I was even born. Hehe.
This my neighbor told me he's going to his father's farm which is a bit into the village. I hadn't walked this street before so when he said something about accompanying him to see the farm I readily agreed.
This area is new so it has very few residential buildings, and the few are pretty new. People are still building, I believe in a few years it will be crowded with people.
His father's farm appeared to be farther than I thought. After walking for about about 25 mins we arrived at the farm.
The poultry farm has to be far from people's residents so I understand the distance and secondly, it may be the only land his father has that is suitable for livestock farming.
I like the farm. Everything was in order and even the fowls were obedient and friendly, lol.
I learned that water that is treated with chlorine is not healthy for them. I also got to know about the use of different shoes while inside the farm to avoid introducing diseases to the poultry.
There were not so many ready-for-sale fowls as they just sold out the mature ones. The few, remaining are those that didn’t mature at the same time with their mates. Others are a few days old, I forgot to take photos of them because of how confined they are in their small room with warm lights.
It is a big farm, and their efforts are fruitful as there were already customers who have booked the chicks in large quantities. So they don’t spend much money on feed as is always the case with some farmers who couldn’t sell off their fowls at the right time so they consume more food than they should, this adds to their expenditure and reduces their profits somehow.

I find poultry farming to be quite interesting, watching these adorable creatures grow huge within weeks is something I’d love to do.
But it’s very stressful and demanding, aside from that it can result in a great loss if not well managed.
It was getting to 7 am when I decided to take my leave. I had chores to attend to so I couldn’t stay any longer.
It was a nice morning for me, and I’m happy and excited enough to write this post.
