Walk Around Hamburg Harbor and Visiting Elbphilharmonie Souvenir Shop

It has been a couple of weeks since the #BuzzParty2024 was held in Hamburg and I had to refresh the memories by checking some of the photos I took while there... Unfortunately, I don't have many of them as I was "distracted" by other participants (thanks for distracting me 😂), which was the point of the meeting... Anyway, I do have some photos which I would like to share with you...

As I have already done my "official* BuzzParty post two weeks ago, I will use this space to share the walk around Hamburg in my favorite #WednesdayWalk community!!

01.jpg

The building on the first photo is Elbphilharmonie, which was our first place to visit the first day after we met early in the morning in the "bakery office" (if you checked posts from other participants, you understand the nickname... lol...). As it was morning hours, there were no events in the Elbphilharmonie, but the building is famous for the best panoramic views of Hamburg and its harbor!

02.jpg

03.jpg

04.jpg

05.jpg

To get there, we had to pass docks where I took some photos of boats...

06.jpg

07.jpg

08.jpg

The first interesting building on the way to Elbphilharmonie was this small building with a curious architectural design... I'm not sure what it was before, but at the moment, it has a POLICE station sign on it! I have to admit that I didn't see anywhere this interesting police station... 🙂

09.jpg

10.jpg

11.jpg

Like in many cities around the world (or it's a European thing?), there is a custom of leaving locks on bridges... I think it has something to do with young couples "promising" themselves to each other and bonding by "locking their love" forever... 😍

12.jpg

13.jpg

After getting to the top of the building (not really the top, but the middle terrace) by the escalator, we can witness great views of the harbor!

14.jpg

15.jpg

16.jpg

17.jpg

The terrace goes around the building so if you are fast and have a good phone, maybe you can run around the building and create a 360-degree panoramic photo... lol... I didn't try it, but maybe someone else did. 🙂

18.jpg

19.jpg

As Europe is a big mix of different cultures and religions, you can find many different religious buildings in Hamburg... It was interesting to take this photo as there are 5 churches in a relatively small distance...

20.jpg

21.jpg

22.jpg

In the middle of the building was a souvenir shop that @edje and I noticed, which distracted us from the group... We decided to enter the shop, completely forgetting about the pretty tight schedule...

23.jpg

24.jpg

Of course, we got distracted by many curious souvenirs that you can buy in this shop... CDs, magnets with the shape of the Elbphilharmonie building, Solar Beethoven?!, or different puzzles...

25.jpg

26.jpg

27.jpg

Every souvenir shop has to have dozens of different mugs, some music socks with your favorite composers, and card games...

28.jpg

As it was cold, I was thinking about buying one of these liqueurs, but after checking the alcohol percentage, I decided to skip them... It wasn't enough for warming up... 😂

29.jpg

31.jpg

30.jpg

32.jpg

These miniature instruments looked cool especially the ones that were designed as LEGO pieces! I suppose that those weren't for sale...

33.jpg

But these were, and @edje even tried to play on them... and of course, he failed... but not because he sucks at playing, but because the strings weren't in the right proportions... 😃

34.jpg

35.jpg

And for the end of this short walk, this could be a perfect gift for wine lovers... The glass that has marked music notes! So, when you drink your wine, you can play notes on your glass... when the music stops, you just have to refill the glass again...

After practicing for many hours (refilling the glass with wine), your music will sound better and better... probably only for you... 😃 🍷

That's all for this walk,
See you at the next one!

Thank you for your time.

I had more photos from the top of the building, but they weren't good enough for publishing... It was interesting that the Elbphilharmonie was surrounded by water from 3 sides... :)

Hehehehe... As I was traveling light and already had a bunch of HIVE merch (which was a high priority! 😃), I had space only for a small present from that shop... 🙂

Spectacular views from that amazing building.

Regarding the padlocks on the bridges, in Cuba I have never seen any, as far as I know, there are none.

All the souvenirs from that store are super cool!!! The miniature instruments, the socks and the wine glass!!!!! I don't know which one I would choose.

I had a similar problem in that shop, but as I was traveling only with my backpack, I had to buy a smaller gift to fit in it... Next time, I have to check-in a 32kg bag for the plane... 😂

hamburg looks like how I imagine it would be, looking dark and cloudly. But those building are amazing to look at.

Hehehe... We had both morning sun, but during the day, it went completely grey... I like the river and all around it, but I'm not sure that I could live in that kind of climate... too much rain for my taste... 😃

It sounds like a nice walk. The boats look quite nice and I have only been on a ship/boat a few times in my life.

I don't think I have ever seen locks on the bridges ever in the US.

After checking the comments, it looks like the padlocks thing is a European trend as nobody saw something like that in other continents... Interesting... :)

I didn't make it to the souvenir shop, there looks like some cool items. The views from the Elbphilharmonie were really cool. Is that red boat the one we sailed on? Looks familiar.

Your other half would have loved that souvenir shop 😉
Great views from the terrace…

Those locks… yep, everywhere in bigger cities in europe. I see them so often.
Have a great day!

It looks like everyone is worried about the "other half" being forgotten... 😜 She got well-covered with HIVE merch and she got a small present from that music shop, too... 😃

Those locks… yep, everywhere in bigger cities in europe. I see them so often.

The mystery is solved thanks to the people from the comment section... It is a European thing definitely... 😃

Have a great weekend (I count Thursday afternoon as the beginning of the weekend... lol)... It is a weekend soon? 😃

It was a relatively "small" meetup, which was the main reason for going... Tbh, I didn't plan to do a presentation at all, but I was politely pushed to do it... 😂
So, it was mostly for the good time and fun hanging out with others... :)

Stunning pictures and beautiful places. Although it constantly looked rainy in almost all the pictures and even if you were distracted you still took some of the best pictures...

Although it constantly looked rainy in almost all the pictures

hahaha... Good observation! 😀 We saw the sun in the morning, and around noon and in the afternoon, it was getting cloudy, and even with rain on the second day, I think... But, in general, it wasn't bad... The company was great and every photo transmits a memory!

Thanks!

The picture quality was great despite the rains and all that. I'm sure you'll be looking forward to another meetup as this one..

I had a hard time with my constant headaches during that weekend, but after hanging out with those guys, I would be always better at the end of the day... :)

I wish I could come to one of these Hive meetups!
Hopefully next year!

Why not this year in HiveFest in September? 🙂

I'm going to check out prices for the airfares right now.

Thanks SOOOO much for sharing the link with me!

Heheeh... I saw your mention on the other post before reading this... Here, you sounded more optimistic... I will keep this message in my "memory bank" regarding HiveFest... 😃

You get headaches a lot?
like migraines?

Yeah, I had a lot that weekend, and in the next few days... But lately, I'm doing much better... ;)

See you in Croatia? 😃 (with both kidneys 😃)

Haaa yeah that one was full of excitement and promise and fun and OMG soooo much excitement to be able to meet you all IRL..😱..but then then second comment was AFTER I saw the cost of a ONE WAY airfare....😱...

I used to get SERIOUSLY BAD BAD BAAAAADDDD migraines for many years- from when I was in primary school in the early 70's, till 2010- when I had my first heart attack and now very rarely get a headache, let alone a migraine..BUT I'm NOT suggesting that you go and have a heart attack...🤣..noooo....

but I am suggesting that you consider low dose Beta Blockers, or calcium channel blockers- if you haven't already, as I have been taking low dose Beta blockers since my first heart attack and that's why my migraines have stopped.
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/in-depth/beta-blockers/art-20044522

You may not have to use them daily, but only when you recognise a trigger for them..

Anyway, worked for me.

See you in Croatia- hopefully with both kidneys, (probably not though...) 🤣

Thanks!

Yes, please do that because it is worth it.

I know a lot of people that do public speaking take Beta Blockers to calm themselves before getting on stage, so although they're to calm your heart, they are also usd for many other things too.

Do you take Magnesium? MAgnesium relaxes muscles, that could help too.

But like I said, I barely get a headache now, after many decades of severe migraines and I'm sure it's because of the Beta Blockers. I cut 1 50mg table into 1/4's, so I take 12,5 mgs a day which is a tiny amount, but enough to work for me...

WOW I thought you said somewhere you didn't have that many photos! Ok Ok, mostly from the walk on the day we did the big ass building thingy ... walking all the way up ... oopsy ... some kinda automatic thingy took us up. So it seems, you made tons of these still images in the gift shop, where we became the slow ones in the group 😅

Ok Ok, mostly from the walk on the day we did the big ass building thingy

hahahaha... well, yeah... after that walk and the boat ride, I was destroyed... lol... I have barely a few photos with others... Luckily, you sucked more than me as you didn't share any... 😛 Where is your post? Where are your photos? 😝

we became the slow ones in the group 😅

We were so slow that we almost missed the boat ride and lunch too! 😂

I suck big ass time 😅😅😅

You know what I decided this weekend? To create a Medium channel and likely one of those Stack-whatever channels. To Blog. Post that aren't for the HIVE chain. Damn! Something to do with marketing support. But this isn't helping me to get my photos sorted and a post written up for the Buzzzzzzzie thingy. Uhm, I am sooo late with everything, I will be at best the last one to bring some low-ass crap to our chain. You triggered me, I shall find the time; The question is only: To find it!

We were so slow that we almost missed the boat ride and lunch too! 😂

True, but this is super binary. Either we missed it, or we didn't. We didn't, so we were on time! 😅 Am a deadline person anyways, so this fitted my how-I-go-about-things perfectly! 😅

Don't spread too much yourself... Keep your health and lower your stress and pressure...
I was kidding regarding the post, but in my case, creating a post about the meetup was a relaxing task and not a "job"... 🙂

Don't spread too much yourself

We are in a decentralised universe, right? Am trying to decentralised/distribute myself 😁

Creating a post about the meetup was a relaxing task and not a "job"... 🙂

Thanks, and in fact, am gonna do this. Anyways, none of the posts feel like a job, I need to find some relax time to sit down and get my fingers moving across the keys. It'll happen. Not sure when 🎶
