Distract Yourself .:. #MyHiveGoals 2023

avatar

Last week I skipped the creation of this #MyHiveGoals report, but this week, I can't do that as I want to know where I am, do I have to change/tweak something and just to re-focus myself on important things... And, if you are following "global" news about crypto, you know very well what am I talking about... It is easy to get lost in the news and waste time worrying, freaking out, and FUDding...

Everyone has their own method to cope with these things and, unfortunately, some will fail, get trapped, sell low, and lose the battle... I learned that lesson a couple of times... First with my BTC purchase (and sale) in 2013... After that in early 2018 with my first all-in crypto bear market... After that, it became easier... I mean, it was hard to see how my portfolio is going down, but it was easier to control to NOT SELL when it's not time for doing it...

One good method to avoid doing stupid things in the bear market is to STAY AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER... lol... It sounds easy, but it's not that easy at all... Especially not for younger people that can't imagine living without electric devices like mobile phones, tablets, and computers... I did something similar 2 days ago... But, to be honest, I didn't do it on purpose... lol... Here is the short story...

I bought my current laptop 2 years ago... The first thing that I did was to erase MS Windows (it came with a laptop) and install Linux... As I was using Linux Mint, I installed that distribution again... Everything went okay (at least I thought it was) and it worked fine... As I'm using my laptop as a desktop computer (always on power, with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse), I didn't notice that I had a problem...

On my first trip, I noticed that I can't power on my laptop on battery! It would turn on, but when Linux would drop the image, it would go in standby, and couldn't bring it up... That was happening ONLY if I turn it on without the power supply (on battery)... As I don't travel too much, I was delaying fixing that problem... Until 2 days ago... I took my time and did 2 major Mint upgrades and 2 minor upgrades... Now, the power on the battery problem is fixed and it works... But, what this story has with crypto?

While I was doing that, I didn't have my computer available for work! And in those moments, we had the big FUD, price dumps of BTC, ETH, HIVE, and all the rest... As I was fixing my stuff, it was a perfect DISTRACTION from the market action... I couldn't BUY or SELL anything as I had to re-install Brave, keychain, and solve other drivers issues that I had... Would I do some stupid move or not, nobody knows as I wasn't ABLE to do it... 😃

So, if you doubt your ability to "sit on your hands" in these kinds of situations, I would recommend you do something similar to what I have done... DISTRACT yourself with something else... Go for a long walk... Go fishing... Visit a friend... You will do something good for yourself and keep yourself from unnecessary stress!

In the end, that's what mainstream media is doing with us all the time! They are keeping us distracted by some stupid news from important things! And if we check out how people react, I would say that it works very well! So, why wouldn't we do the same with ourselves, but in a healthier way and manner...

It's time to go back to other numbers for #MyHiveGoals... In the beginning, let's check out HiveStats...

Hivestats1.png
screenshot from hivestats.io

As I didn't do this report last week, I can't really compare how I was doing as the numbers are "fake"... In the meantime, we had a #HivePUD and numbers are "rigged" 😀, but I can split numbers for two weeks and maybe deduct that 1K power up...

If I do that, it would mean that I accumulated around 210 Hive Power per week, which is great and it is inside my weekly goal! That means that I'm on a good road to reaching my yearly goal... Also, with cheaper HIVE the accumulation should be easier... Speaking of that, if the price goes down even more, under 20-25 cents, I will reconsider changing my Hive Power goal for a higher number... That 100K is very appealing... But, I don't want to rush things and I will keep my emotions out of it... until we see some lower price... 😃

The moment when LEO Finance team decided to stop printing tokens, the price of the token began to rise... So, what we can see at this moment is that it is harder to accumulate LEO tokens... Exactly the opposite of what's happening with HIVE!

In the last 14 days, I have added 126 LEO tokens to my LEO Power goal, which would be 63 tokens per week... If the price continues to go up, it will be hard to hit that 25K goal... The same as for HIVE, I don't want to rush into things, so I will do what I was doing and slowly continue to accumulate...

pg divider203.png

GAMING GOALS - Flexible Goals

One of the busiest places on HIVE at the moment is the Rising Star game! After the official launch of RAVES, they are actively adding new stuff to it... As a direct result of those actions, the price of STARBITS went a bit up, despite the negative crypto sentiment on the global markets... New sinks for the token are being created and I like how things are developing... It's very hard to work on stuff when everyone is negative and many other crypto-games have failed to do that... Rising Star is different and the whole community is having fun with it!

In the last 14 days, I have added 209 Rising Star NFTs to my collection!

When the GLX token hit the bottom and start to go up, I stopped buying tokens from the market... As I had some other "triggers" that I failed to execute, I decided to keep this one... Stop buying when the price goes up! But, that doesn't mean that I have stopped with my accumulation...

In the last 14 days, my GLX token stake grew by 5680 tokens! As I didn't buy tokens from the market, all those are earned tokens as staking rewards! I will continue compounding these tokens until the next "major event" that should push the price up... The idea is to start taking some profits in those moments by selling part of staking rewards... I suppose that I will have to wait for some more time, but that's okay... The idea was to accumulate these tokens for the long term, but getting in early...

It's time to update the numbers and put them into the spreadsheet until the next week! So, freshly updated numbers for #MyHIVEGoals, on June 11th, 2023 are:

Wow I'm so surprised to know that you first time sell or buy BTC in 2013 , everyone did some mistakes in early day's but it's really good to free yourself from that which is the reason of stress and visit to a friend.

It's only a half year and you're done 80% of hive goals that's impressive 😃
Keep it up and soon you'll cross these goals

I wrote a couple of times about my "excursion" to the world of crypto in 2013... 😂 I was a noob, sold my BTC, and I quit back then... Come back in early 2017, and here I am... :)

Regarding goals, so far so good... Except for LEO, which could be unrealized, but there is still a lot of time until the end of the year... we will see... :)

Thanks for the comment and encouragement!

Well after completing hive goals you should focus on Leo goals and than surely you can get that too.

How you getting Leo in to your account??? Just by using leo thread's or any other way???

It's always my pleasure to being engage

Unfortunately, I don't have that much time to do LEOThreads and I wasn't a "twitter-person" never... Most of my LEO tokens are coming from my HP delegation, LEO staking rewards, and author rewards... Currently, I'm not buying LEO tokens...
But, I suppose that the fastest way is to do LEO Threads... Of course, if you have time to do it...

Once i try to making leo thread's but i can't manage my time and than leave it

Great progress on your goals and it is good to keep distracted when the world is crashing around you. I hope Hive does not drop so low as you mention, but it could make sense to stack more if it does.

I hope Hive does not drop so low as you mention, but it could make sense to stack more if it does.

To be honest, I wouldn't like to see that either... But, that doesn't depend too much on you and me, and our wishes... If it happens, happens... If not, I will get there, but slower... with some profits in my pockets... 😃 Win-win 😃

I don't care the current fall of cryptos as well as HIVE. I just consider converting some HBD to HIVE.

That's the spirit! But, many people aren't thinking in that way... This post is written for them... 😃

Indeed we need to distract ourselves from steadily looking at the market.

This was a good read and I love how you explained everything in details.

Thanks for sharing

Awesome work! You will reach the yearl goal pretty soon!
We both are hoping for 0,20$-0,25$ HIVE...

Hopefully we will get there!

Well, I have mixed feeling about getting that low... lol...
I would like to get there to get more, but I would rather see HIVE going to $1... 😂

I think finding a distraction during FUD is good. Personally, I don't really check the price much at all and I would rather play a video game over trying to read all those FUD articles. It was hard at the start but once people find a way to avoid it, there isn't any issues anymore.

Great progress on your goals.

I would rather play a video game over trying to read all those FUD articles.

Exactly! It's such a waste of time reading those FUD articles over and over again... You read once and you read them all... No need to waste more time...

Yeah, I'd probably get depressed if I'd start calculating my crypto holdings in fiat after the latest dump. Luckily, I know better. What I am pretty sure about is that the tide will change... eventually. We just need to keep grinding until it does.

The threads battle I was involved in during the week-end was a good way for me to keep my mind away from the FUD.

Yeah, I'd probably get depressed if I'd start calculating my crypto holdings in fiat after the latest dump.

I mentioned a lot of times how I was depressed in 2018-2019 when we had that huge bear market... From that I learned a huge lesson and this time, I'm "surviving" these bad times much better... 😂

Yep, I learned a lot from that period too. The more bears we 'survive', the easier it gets. Surprisingly, I had tougher times in bulls so far (taking profits). :)

Healthy distractions of other responsibilities and activities often arrive at just the right time... and have a way of protecting the "engaged" from making emotional decisions. Sometimes too much focus can be a bad thing...

Sometimes too much focus can be a bad thing...

This is on-spot! I know that I do overthink a lot, and all that because of too much focus... The only way to stop doing that is to keep me off the computer... 😃

Haha I know everyone says that (distract oneself) as a way to cope with bear markets - but I can't seem to do that. I still like to check prices every day to see what is happening to the news and the markets. But over time, I think I am able to cope emotionally and it's all good. Maybe another approach is to face it head-on and then one will be "immune" after a while. Lol!

I still like to check prices every day to see what is happening to the news and the markets.

I was doing that during the night... When I go to sleep or wake up during the night... lol... That was sick... Now, I do check prices, but maybe 2-3 times per day max...
But, that's not that relevant at all... The problem is if you TAKE ACTIONS on your emotions and do stupid things like selling low and buying high... (Done that! 😂)
