Ein ausrangierter Kanal mit Schleusen

Ich bin hier entlang eines ausrangierten Kanals spazieren gegangen. Es war interessant sich mal die Schleusen von der Nähe anzusehen. Ob die Schleusen für die Schiffe manuell geöffnet werden? Ich schätze, dass man schon mehrere Personen benötigt, um die Mechanik in Gang zu setzen. Das habe ich selber noch nie gesehen.

I walked here along a abandoned canal. It was interesting to see the locks up close. I wonder if the locks are opened manually for the ships? I guess that you need several people to set the mechanism in motion. I have never seen that myself.
