Kaila has returned to the penthouse, where she spent most of her childhood summer vacation. Everything looked tatted and abandoned. She couldn't believe this place was once her sanctuary—a place of solitude, reflection, fun, and bonding with her family. The run-down infrastructure of the penthouse and its environs made it not so secure, but Kaila didn't mind because, to her, it still felt like home.

She remembered all the fun and scary stories Mr. Anderson, who was the former keeper of the penthouse, had told her and her younger brother Andrew, and this brought smiles and tears to her face.

Kaila said to herself that she would do anything to bring the penthouse back to life. She knew there was much work to be done to fully bring it to restoration, and that couldn't be done by her alone. She hired people to work with her.

At the end of their work and repairs, the penthouse stood strong even though it was not so secure, but it was a symbol of what could be reclaimed and rebuilt.
