SPEND WISELY

Spending wisely entails adequate calculations. It's that time of the year when lots of activities that requires money are glaring at us. Unfortunately, some people are usually carried away with the happenings and end up spending on both relevant and irrelevant things. I have seen a man who traveled to his hometown during Christmas and started showcasing himself to the community, claiming to have made it by spending so roughly on practically what comes on his way. He would buy drinks and garnished bush meat for the young guys he sees in a restaurant and gives them the impression to eat and get satisfied, the bill on his head. He became the talk of the town... everyone in the community loved him because of such a kind act to the detriment of his children. All he did was only a show-off and I was sad to hear how his wife and children suffered to feed and pay bills at the beginning of the new year.

I am not against giving in any way because I give too but it becomes unwise when we spend to please people and later, live in regret. I use to wonder why some people do all manner of evil to get money when the Christmas season is approaching, but then I found out that most of them do that to show off especially those that plan to travel to their hometown. However, my point is that, even with your legit money 🤑💰, be wise while spending this season. Gift people if that is in your plan, and help the needy if you can... but don't be carried away with other social activities and run into bankruptcy. Always be calculative to avoid beginning the new year with an empty pocket all in the name of enjoying the season. Of course, it's good to enjoy and have fun but moderation remains the key, especially in this world economy.

My gender is another set of human beings that spends lavishly this season forgetting their financial goals. Both relevant and irrelevant items will be shopped just to belong.

It's also that time most ladies give attention to their wants rather than their needs. Meeting our wants is also nice but in everything, be wise in spending 👌

For some parents like me who have stood by school fees by January and some who need to renew their house rents, applying wisdom while spending in this season will save the day come January. I am saying all these because most people don't realize how much they have spent while having fun with the season until they become almost empty. It has happened to some people I know in the past. It's pretty nice to have fun, relax with friends, go to beaches, cinemas, and parks 🏞️, and attend to all manner of occasions during the season but in all we do, we should always be calculative and not be carried away with anything at all.

I hope you pick one thing from my sermon tonight.

That will be all for now!

Merry Christmas in addy🎉

This is the period of time, I spend a lot on my stomach. Plus I know how broke I am at the moment. I recently ordered a wristwatch, paid on delivery... I have been meaning to buy that watch but have always been procrastinating it and it increased in price from 7k to 10k... I would pay 11k with the delivery fee included...

I have been feeling maybe I have made a wrong decision about it but still going to buy it instead because the price can go up tomorrow. So I plan on making a post about it after I have gotten it. Maybe I can make some of the money I paid for it back.

Lolz, that's smart of you making a post to recover the money.

Wristwatch is not bad and it is definitely not just for the season. I definitely would take that as waste and as long as you have the power to afford it, nothing should stop you.

Spending recklessly in the name of the festive season is different. The rate at which the price of things increase lately will make one regret not buying when it was cheap.

Yeah I would have to make a post on it. 11k is a lot of money for me to let go at the moment. 😅

This is the message of the world at the moment, why should I spend recklessly on the festive season knowing fully well that I will suffer for it after the whole festive paparazzi is gone.

It is indeed a time to have fun but it has to be moderate and I hope people understand this.

Glad you are seeing it from my view
It baffles me on how people will just be spending anyhow and later face the music at the end

A friend who lives in Abuja told me they have added about 15k to transport to Imo state, I told him to just cancel the Christmas trip because the prices will still increase.

He said he will look for money at all costs and I was wondering why he has to put himself in so much problem to get the money.

Can you just imagine 🤔
This is the reason why I have chosen to stay back in Lagos
I can't spend all my money and return back empty just to celebrate the season
