Stages in Christ (part 1): BABYHOOD

In every man's life, there are three stages that are very important and these stages encompassed the lifetime of such a man. No one on earth will not go through it because it is the way the nature of man has been designed. Funny how, anyone that does not go through these stages might be seen as a robot or something that cannot be described.

On the other hand, as we have these three stages in the physical design of a man, so it is in the spiritual life of any man in Christ Jesus. I will be discussing these stages in different posts.

BABYHOOD

This is the stage where a man responded to the love of Christ through the involvement of the Holy Spirit opening the person's eyes to see the love of the father through Jesus. It is where the person becomes born again and just like a new born baby birthed by a woman, so is such the man in this stage i.e his born again.

As we all know it, a new born baby will not only be given birth to but be fed with the undiluted milk of the mother so that he won't die but begins to grow, so also is this man born in Christ as a baby that must be fed with the undiluted milk of the word of God so that the growth process is initiated and nurtured accurately. But the pain here is that, this person does not have someone to feed him which in turn will stunt his growth and this is not his mistake because he a babe and he does not know right from left yet.

Many are in this stage because they have been in Christ for years but have not outgrown this stage because they have not been fed the way they should and it looks as if they have not been birthed at all. Majority of them are only growing in age but not growing in the knowledge of Him that have saved them.

Moreover, majority of them are leaders in our churches, decision makers in matters that are important but once you check them very well, you will notice they have only grown in age but not in the knowledge of Christ. Their current and previous life do not look differently and again you can't blame them. A baby cannot feed himself, a baby does not know how to feed himself, a baby will only depend on the mother to be fed and why do we have to leave these Jesus babies to feed themselves? and that's why we have not seen tangible progress in our evangelistic activities because once they are birthed, we let them be.

So what is the solution to this because many people in this stage are causing more harm to the kingdom and frustrate the works of the father which makes the kingdom of God looks as if is not populated. The solution is to not just invite them to respond to the love of the father but to also take it upon ourselves to begin to nature them in the way of the Lord so that they can grow perfectly.

Also, we will have to put structures in place in our churches and various ministries for a perfect environment that allows for a perfect growth and see to it that the structures are maintained so as to build consistent result. Jesus really wants his babies to grow and of we don't do it his way, we might continue to frustrate the purpose of His coming in the first place.

Lastly, once a man his fed with the undiluted word of Christ, the next stage is CHILDHOOD. See you in the next post.
