When You Fall In Real Love

Happy Lovers' Month, Friends.

We all know how much importance we have placed on Valentine's Day. From the beginning of the month, one of the most discussed issues is the date, specially set aside to celebrate love. Love itself is a beautiful thing. Love embraces everything and even forbearance. From the word go, love has taken centre stage in the coexistence of man. Little wonder that despite the fall of Eve, Adam still lived with her as husband. Today, I wish to share what I have put in place already and always to celebrate my love for my sweet wife. Kindly note that we understand that some days are more special than others but we have decided to make each passing day a special one.

This year Valentine's day is going to be on a Wednesday, one day in the week that is our freest. Every year, my wife knows that I always have something planned. She is already anticipating a surprise. Here is what I have in plan.

•Date in Cozy Ambiance Restaurant
There is this new cozy restaurant in town that has a private lounge. I was at the opening ceremony sometime in January this year. I made a booking for two with confetti and candles and perfume where I would host my wife. She may tell me it is too extravagant but this Valentine's day is a special one for us. Our marriage clocked ten last year. We have had that averaged, eighty percent of marriages in the world crashes before it get to ten. We have crossed ten and still see each other as new lovers. So, we have a lot of things to celebrate. I will be reassuring my dear wife that she is all I have got, that night.

•Gifts
At first, I was unable to settle for what gift to present to my wife on the said date. So, I had to consult some friends and colleagues to make a case for me in what to buy as a gift. Their suggestions were good though some were very laughable. She doesn't like to wear perfume, so that's out of the picture. What is in for me now is to get her a nice wristwatch and a dinner gown which she would wear on that date. Since she likes to show off her rings, I have decided to buy her a customised ring and would present it to her as a proposal. She would have to remarry me that night.

•The Surprise
I have it all figured out. I have made plans for my mother and her mother to be present at the show. Alright, this is how it would play out. I had it discussed with my mom and she was all in support. We put a call across to my mother-in-law who is far away in Delta. She will be in Lagos Monday but won't be in our residence. She would stay at my mother's. These two women have been friends ever since I got married to my wife.

The kids (we have two children. A boy and a girl) would stay with their grannies. They would only be getting to see that their maternal grandmother is already in town. That will certainly be another surprise. Together, they shall bombard the restaurant when I am presenting the ring, as a symbol of my love for her. She would be so shocked to see her mother. But it is what it is, to show her how much she means to me. You can go ahead and call me a chief strategist.

By doing the aforementioned, I would be gaining more trust from my wife. I intend to make realize how important she is to me on this journey and to remind her that we are a team, walking hand in hand as a good example to our world.

Beyond romance and affection, I think we should state that love is a strong force. It breaks through ethnic bar, religious sentiments and natural embodiments. We should always spread love around, not the bed. Nowadays, people would rather share the bed and killed the love.

I hope that this month, many people who are still learning the ropes of love will not fall into the trap of the bed. Like that popular picture of a young man chasing a lady with flower (love) and when she finally accepted it, she for pregnant, then the guy absconded.
