The Cookies Are Safe, I repeat The Cookies Are Safe

I have a real sweet tooth. Ever since I can remember, it's always been dessert over food! Before, my treat of choice used to be chocolate, but as years went by, my palette grew more refined, and I moved on. Today, my worst addiction is cookies. Nothing beats a yummy cookie dipped in a warm cup of coffee (my other vice).

Of course, the chocolate kind is preferred. Don't get me wrong; I'll eat them all: chocolate, vanilla and pistachio, strawberry, rusks, crunchies, biscotti, sugar cookies - it's equal opportunity for all cookies. But when the chocolate bits melt in your mouth, post-coffee swim, it feels like happiness, and nothing can ruin it. But I digress...

Today I'm not here to write a sad variation of cookie porn, but I'm here to tell you the cookies are safe (from me, at least)! I have been on board the cookie train all winter, and I jumped off a moving train and went cold turkey last week.

Day 7: The cookies are still safe

It's now been almost a week without cookies. I had a bit of cake on Friday, a small piece. But that's about it. I have been tempted to break out the cookies as everyone at home loves them, so we always have a stash. But I'm going strong. If for no other reason than dropping a few kilos, as I'm sure cookies are the main reason for me packing on those winter pounds. I feel a detox is needed. I'm going to go as long as I can. But 30 days should be the minimum.

Here goes nothing; wish me luck.

What's your favourite cookie?

Just because I can't eat them does not mean I can't talk about them. I wanna know what your favourite cookie is.

Much love From Sunny Cape Town,

Ah is sad when you have to get off the cookie train. I had to do the same a couple of years ago as it was becoming a daily habit and was no good for my waistline! Good luck!

Thanks man. is sadly not my first attempt. I know how hard it is. But when you have cookies for breakfast, you know you have a serious problem! by you i mean me!

Snacking on fruit now. doesn't taste as good when dipped in coffee! The small pleasures! !PIZZA

the more chocolate the better... triple-choc is a good start for a cookie... crunchy on the outside and a little bit doughy and chewy on the inside... yummmmmm...

we always have a stash

impossible... I have zero self-control when it comes to chocolate and cookies... if I buy them, basically doesn't matter how much, I'll almost always eat them all in the same day, even if my monkey brain intended to have a stash for the whole weekend, that's all gone on Friday night.
