Splinterlands - Price Above Burn

There are times that are good to be a card buyer and I think right now is one of those times. Here are my reasons.

1.10x Price Above Burn

Right now there are some reward cards that are barely above their DEC burn rate value. When this happens and we use third party sites like monstermarket.io or cardauctionz.com to earn back 3% of the purchase price the overall cost to obtain the reward cards are closer to 1.07 or 7% above burn rate.

Volatility in DEC Price

The price volatility of DEC can be an opportunity for card buyers. In times where DEC price is swinging like recent day where it was between $0.00068 to $0.00072 it is nearly 7% difference. Imagine then if you notice DEC price swinging higher just when the reward cards remain on the market and able to snatch them up? That would not only cover the cost of the cards in DEC burn rate but could potentially buy the cards under burn rate!

Timing and Having Patience

I manually purchase cards and use what resources are public to all in search for best card deals. So there are multiple occasions where I miss a card deal just by seconds or never saw it at all. The best odds to stack in my favor is when the price of DEC has a big swing. Within that time I am able to lock in on some cards at much lower DEC cost overall. This means it takes time and patience waiting to see if things unfold the way I would hope.

To further discount the buy in of the reward cards I tend to max my reward cards and rent them out to earn passive income. I can take into consideration the passive income as a form of payment off the principal of purchasing the cards in the first place. On occasions where I see max level reward cards around 1.15x or less in burn rate I purchase the cards to rent out and would break even at burn rate in around 30 - 90 days. This method takes time and patience too.
