Christmas For Me This Year -| HIVENAIJA WEEKLY PROMPT #24
Celebrating Christmas leaves us with memories to carry till next festive year.Although not everyone celebrates Christmas but whether all or not, that feeling of something happened would be felt by all. Everyone knows without being told that Christmas is a season of celebration, sharing and love.
Christmas season is one that many await with lots of eagerness because of the joy it brings. My Christmas this year will actually take a new turn unlike the past years. Past Christmas had been done and celebrated in a grand style because I can't vividly remember any Christmas I have celebrated all alone without traveling back home for the holidays.
In the spirit of Christmas, although I won't be having the same feeling like I used to have with my family members due to change of plans, I don't really have any plans yet on how to go about the whole celebration. Apart from the outlined plan with my friend, I don't have any plans for myself yet.
For some, once we get to the month of December, their Christmas begins, the budgets, the planning, the buying and the decorations begin. Personally, for this year's Christmas, I don't have any intention of spending much on myself.
Due to lots of things I need to clear out financially, I have decided to let go of the thought of spending so much this year. First reason behind this decision is my school project. Trying to bind my project, getting financially ready for clearance, money for trip and extra funds for camping and so many others. These coming up in just a period of a month or few months makes me consider cutting down on my Christmas celebration.
Although this has stood as a barrier to having a well deserved Christmas,I refused to make it look that way completely. All I did to make this work out was cutting off some things and bringing in others. Since I have lots of fine dresses in my wardrobe,the thought of getting a new dress because it's Christmas was erased from my budget. The thought of getting a new pair of shoes is also off.
Instead of investing that money on those, I decided to channel the money to spending quality time with my friends here who are more like a family to me. Having a small gathering in the form of a picnic was an idea I shared with them and they accepted. Being my idea, I decided to provide the food that would be eaten. Also, after the picnic, I also organized a swimming pool with my friends.
Though I know that buying a gift for myself would have been nice, doing something fun and sharing the joy of Christmas with friends adds more layers to the beautiful memories that come after celebration. Doing something that leaves an unremovable mark in a positive way can't be compared to anything. There is no specific way of celebrating this season of love other than having fun in a grand style with people and loved ones.
Celebrating with friends is the most important key about Christmas. And you have made the right decisions to focus your spending on the important things first.

The aim is having fun, and that can be achieved with or with out so much spendings.
If you have plans that Christmas expenses might affect, please attend to them and keep Christmas aside, besides next year has another Christmas in it.
With what you said you there, your Christmas is sure to be fun, since you won't be home alone all by yourself. Once in a while trying something new is nice.

Indeed whether everyone celebrates it or not, Christmas brings an entirely different taste and vibes and that's one of the best parts I love.
You forgot to mention the part of making Christmas hair, I would wish to do that one thing differently these one time but like they say, if only wishes are... Have got a lot on my plate and don't think I can afford to remove such an amount for my hair as I did not budget it before now.

This is very true. Once it is December, that feeling of Christmas is here is already being felt.
About Christmas year, I have already made budget for that before hands. My dear, if going for something very expensive will affect your plans, just go for something simple or make use of wig if you are a type to love rocking wigs.
