Video Game Room and My Partecipation to PGM Power UP WEEK
On Hive I have set definite growth goals and every first of the month at HPUD I share my progress towards Orca status which is my main goal on Hive.
Even though it is a difficult goal and I am still far from reaching when I set a goal I always try my best to achieve it as quickly as possible.
The blockchain of Hive has many utilities and among them is the ability to create, buy, sell or transfer a second-level token.
There are many second-level tokens and all are manageable by one of Hive's second-level token dexes such as:
I have noticed that many Hive users marginally consider second-level tokens but in my opinion it is important to consider them because many tokens such as community tokens are earnable without investing but simply by using precise tags in a post published on Hive.
In a little over 4 years on Hive I have accumulated, bought, sold and staked many second level tokens and today my token Wallet on Hive Engine has an estimated value of 1947$.
I dedicate today's post to a second-level token that I have been accumulating since its creation: the Play Gamer (PGM) token.
The PGM token is the token created by @zottone444, it is a token that started out as a tip token but then, over time, added more use cases.
I wrote and published a post in January in which I listed and explained all the use cases of the PGM token.

A few days ago the PGM token added an additional use case because it can be used in the mining game created by the PGM team: Video Game Room
I am very focused on blockchain-based games and particularly Hive-based games and I like to try, support and invest in gaming projects built on the Hive blockchain and I started playing on Video Game Room eight days ago.
The game can be accessed from the game section of PGM's front end: https://pgmshare.com/pgmgame
To start playing I paid an 8 SWAP.HIVE entry fee by clicking JOIN and authorizing payment via Hive Keychain.
In the following image you can see my personal screenshot on Video Game Room.
With the payment of the registration fee I received an initial mining item: 1 Controller
The functioning of the game is very simple:
- there is a pool of PGM tokens that is distributed daily to all Video Game Room players
- each mining element has an assigned point score
- each player receives his reward daily, which depends on the sum of the scores of the mining elements he owns.
There are three mining elements that can be purchased and they have different costs:
- Controller - cost: 250 PGM
- Console - cost: 440 PGM
- PC - cost 850 PGM
There is little information in the game interface, lacking for example the indication of the points obtainable from each item, but the game is really very young and as announced by @videogameroom in one of his recent post there will soon be improvements to the GUI and more detailed information will be added.
Readers of my Hive blog know well that I consider mining games to be more investments than games, and so I now share some financial evaluations about Video Game Room based on my brief gaming experience and based on the rewards I have achieved to date.
I signed up on Video Game Room 8 days ago, on March 17, 2023
With a Controller (=28 points) and in 8 days I received 8 rewards of 2.38095 PGM each for a total of 19.0476 PGM.
Today, March 25, 2023 1 PGM token has a value of:
- 0.02141397 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0085732 (Highest BID)
- 0.02600000 SWAP.HIVE = $0.0104093 (Lowest Ask)
Based on the current value of PGM tokens, I obtained a daily gain of 2.38095 PGM = 0.0599 SWAP.HIVE = $0.02024.
I calculated the estimated time to reach the breakeven point.
If I do not purchase any more mining items I should reach the break-even point in 156.91 days.
Note: The result of calculating the time needed to reach the break-even point is an estimated result because it will be smaller if the value of the PGM token increases in the future and will be larger in the opposite case.
This result will also be affected by the total number of mining items purchased by players.
In the above calculation, it is the subscription cost that greatly affects the result.
What might happen if, for example, I decide to purchase a second Controller?
The total cost of my investment on Video Game Room would increase by +5.35 SWAP.HIVE = $2.12
But the time to reach the break-even point would be shortened by almost 26 days: 130.95 days to reach the break-even point instead of 156.91.
That is why I decided to buy another controller right away, and in the next few days, after evaluating the effects of the second controller, I will buy more mining elements.
My Participation to PGM Power UP WEEK
I conclude this post of mine with my participation in the PGM PowerUP Week initiative that started on March 19, 2023 and will end tomorrow, March 26, 2023.
After purchasing the Controller I showed earlier I have in my wallet 129.72 PGM liquid.
Different from my previous participation in the PGM Power Up Week this time I did not power up all my liquid PGMs but only 50 PGMs because I need liquid PGMs to buy other mining items of the Video Game Room game.
With my last PGM Power Up I reached a total amount of 11537.95 PGM staked whose dollar value is 98.08$ (Highest Bid value).
With 11537.95 PGM staked I am in sixth place in the PGM Richlist that you can view at https://leodex.io/richlist/PGM.

Ci sono tanti token di secondo livello e tutti sono gestibili da uno dei dex dei token di secondo livello di Hive come ad esempio:
Molti utenti di Hive considerano marginalmente i token di secondo livello ma secondo me è importante non farlo perchè molti token come ad esempio i community tokens sono guadagnabili senza investire ma semplicemente utilizzando precisi tag in un post pubblicato su Hive.
In poco più di 4 anni su Hive ho accumulato, acquistato, venduto e messo in stake tanti token di secondo livello e oggi il mio token Wallet su Hive Engine ha un valore stimato di 1947$.
Oggi dedico il mio post odierno ad un token di secondo livello che accumulo fin dalla sua nascita: il token Play Gamer (PGM).
Il token PGM è il token creato da @zottone444, è un token nato come tip token ma poi, con il passare del tempo, ha aggiunto più casi d'uso.
Ho scritto e pubblicato un post nel mese di gennaio in cui ho elencato e spiegato tutti i casi d'uso del token PGM.

Pochi giorni fa il token PGM ha aggiunto un ulteriore caso d'uso perchè può essere utilizzato nel gioco di mining creato dal team di PGM: Video Game Room
Sono molto focalizzato sui giochi basati su blockchain e in particolare sui giochi Hive-based e mi piace provare, supportare e investire nei progetti di gaming costruiti sulla blockchain di Hive e ho iniziato a giocare su Video Game Room otto giorni fa.

Per iniziare a giocare è necessario pagare un costo di iscrizione di 8 SWAP.HIVE cliccando su JOIN e autorizzando il pagamento tramite Hive Keychain.

Con il pagamento del costo di iscrizione ho ricevuto un primo elemento di mining: 1 Controller
Il funzionamento del gioco è molto semplice:
- c'è una pool di token PGM che viene distribuita giornalmente a tutti i giocatori di Video Game Room
- ogni elemento di mining ha un punteggio assegnato
- ogni giocatore riceve giornalmente la sua ricompensa che dipende dalla somma dei punteggi degli elementi di mining che possiede.
Gli elementi di mining acquistabili sono tre e hanno costi differenti:
- Controller - costo: 250 PGM
- Console - costo: 440 PGM
- PC - costo 850 PGM
Nell'interfaccia del gioco ci sono poche informazioni, manca ad esempio l'indicazione dei punti ottenibili da ogni elemento, ma il gioco è davvero molto giovane e come annunciato da @videogameroom in un suo recente post ci saranno presto dei miglioramenti all'interfaccia grafica e saranno aggiunte informazioni più dettagliate.
I lettori del mio Hive blog sanno bene che considero i giochi di mining più investimenti che giochi e quindi adesso condivido alcune valutazioni finanziarie su Video Game Room in base alla mia breve esperienza di gioco e in base alle ricompense che ho ottenuto fino ad oggi.
Mi sono iscritto su Video Game Room 8 giorni fa, il 17 marzo 2023
Con un Controller (=28 punti) e in 8 giorni ho ricevuto 8 ricompense da 2.38095 PGM l'una per un totale di 19.0476 PGM.
Oggi 25 marzo 2023 1 PGM token ha un valore di:

Nota: Il risultato del calcolo del tempo necessario per raggiungere il punto di pareggio è un risultato stimato perchè sarà minore se il valore del token PGM aumenterà in futuro e sarà maggiore nel caso contrario.
Questo risultato sarà anche influenzato dal totale del numero degli elementi di mining acquistati dai giocatori.
Nel calcolo precedente è il costo di sottoscrizione che incide molto sul risultato.
Cosa potrebbe succedere se ad esempio decido di acquistare un secondo Controller?
Il costo totale del mio investimento su Video Game Room aumenterebbe di +5.35 SWAP.HIVE = 2.12$
Ma il tempo per raggiungere il punto di pareggio si accorcerebbe di quasi 26 giorni: 130.95 giorni per raggiungere il punto di pareggio invece di 156.91.
Ecco perchè ho deciso di comprare subito un altro controller e nei prossimi giorni, dopo aver valutato gli effetti del secondo controller, comprerò altri elementi di mining.
My Partecipation to PGM Power UP WEEK
Concludo questo mio post con la mia partecipazione all'iniziativa PGM PowerUP Week che è iniziata il 19 marzo 2023 e terminerà domani 26 marzo 2023.
Dopo l'acquisto del Controller che ho mostrato prima sono rimasto con 129.72 PGM liquidi.
A differenza della mia precedente partecipazione al PGM Power Up Week questa volta non ho fatto il power up di tutti i miei PGM liquidi ma solo di 50 PGM perchè ho bisogno di PGM liquidi per per acquistare altri elementi di mining del gioco Video Game Room.
Con il mio ultimo PGM Power Up ho raggiunto un quantitativo totale di 11537.95 PGM staked il cui valore in dollari è di 98.08$ (Highest Bid value).

Just wondering, but what is the math behind getting a 2nd controller and bringing down the time to break-even? I assume that each one gives you the same amount of points so I would have expected it to take longer to break even.

The time to reach the break-even point is reduced with the second controller because the first one is given with the membership payment that costs 8 SWAP.HIVE.
A controller, on the other hand, costs 5.35 SWAP.HIVE and for this reason after the purchase of the second controller the total cost increases by less than the increase in the total value of points ;)
