SCBD Teens Broke The Social System

In Indonesia, there is the phenomenon of Citayam Fashion Week. It is a group of teens who cat walk on a zebra cross in the Dukuh Atas area on Sudirman Street, Jakarta. Tokyo Fashion Week commented that the phenomenon is similar to Harajuku in Japan.
Let's look at how CFW is formed naturally by teens who like to hang out on the side of Sudirman Street, Jakarta. Before the CFW became so popular, there were hundreds of teens who hung out in the pedestrian area. There were also some young content creators who interviewed the teens so that the videos became viral.
Most of the teens who hang out on Sudirman Street were from Citayam, Bojong Gede, and Depok. Then, there was a new term, SCBD (Sudirman, Citayam, Bojong Gede, and Depok).

What makes the teens unique is their fashion style. Their styles were anti-mainstream. They mixed and matched their pants, and shirts. They also wore jackets, caps, and sunglasses. Finally, their fashion style became popular among teens. A group of teens started to cat walk on a zebra cross on Sudirman Street. This action made Citayam Fashion Week the trending topic on social media.
After a few weeks, there were some figures that represented teens who liked to hang out at Sudirman Street. They were Bonge, Roy, Kurma, Jeje, Wahyu, and others.

Most of the popular figures are dropped-out teens. They did not finish their primary and secondary schools.
Then, all those figures were invited and interviewed by TV stations. Their popularity has broken the social system. Dropped out teenagers who rose to prominence. Now, they have become artists who are well paid for endorsing products and services.
Many critics are addressed to them, but there are a lot of supporters too.

My opinion

The existing social system is that teens should go to school and be nice kids. All their needs would be supplied by their parents, but Bonge and friends broke it. Their financial situation forced them to drop out of school.Their parents could not afford to pay the school fee, so they should be the bread winners for the family. They did busking for a living. Finally, they found their success on Sudirman Street.

I've never heard of this before, but I am aware of some similar trends in other parts of the world. When survival is of the upmost importance, and when a breadwinner for the house is needed, I guess we can't blame them for pursuing this route. This movement reminds me a bit of the Congo Dandies.

Every part of the world has history how marginal people grow up. Apologize for the late reply
