For this week, week 43, I'll be presenting one of the suggested songs in the Community for the week. I will present the Gospel song by Nathaniel Bassey titled Imela.

"Imela" (or Daalu) is an Igbo word which means "Thank You" in English. We can also transcribe it literally as "You have done well".

"Imela" by Nathaniel Bassey is a song of thanksgiving or gratitude to God, appreciating Him for His goodness, mercy, grace and faithfulness.

Indeed, we've got so many reasons to thank God or to be grateful to God. The journey from January 1st 2022 to December 31st 2022 wasn't an easy one. It was one filled with ups and downs, success and failures, happiness and sorrow, satisfaction and disappointments, peace of mind and depression. Certainly, in all of these conflicting instances, God was there with us, seeing us through and guiding us along the right path.

This is a "brand" new year and although we aren't expecting a perfect year without these disappointments, we continue to pray for God's guidance and grace to forge ahead. We also pray that He guide our path.

For this piece, I used an instrumental of Imela downloaded from instrumentals.com.ng and I played the guitar over it. I played it through my Guitar effect since my laptop issue hasn't been resolved at the moment. I hope you enjoy this piece.

It's a song not Thanksgiving but I was getting an extra vibe from it because you did an amazing job with the way you pulled the strings, I loved everything about this presentation, I've also missed seeing you play so beautifully too 🥰.

I can't wait to learn how to play one of these instruments so that these oppressions will stop 🥺.
